Peter Beards Body was not found by police as our local paper just said. Peter was found by me , a local who knew the woods across the street from his home better than anyone. After an extensive search by our police, and Peter not being found i assumed Peter was taken by the ocean. After a few weeks of onshore wind and no Peter i knew he had to be on land, he was i found Peter on my second day of searching last sunday 19th.A local paper said the PD found Peters body. Nothing could be further from the truth. I found him in some very thick woods after finding a shoe of his, i have gained alot of respect for how he got himself so deep into this spot, at 82 it was a herculean effort. Rest In Peace Peter Beard...

Are you saying he ended his life? I am interested as he is so enigmatic to wonder if his passing was just as enigmatic.

@@richterr6435 No Mr R way not saying he ended his life. I believe Peter, who had dementia walked into his woods and got lost. I have talked to a few of his old friends, they suggested him ending his life was his way of leaving, the last mystery of Peter disappearing into the bush ??? But I believe he just got lost and died in the woods. I hunted the woods where I found Peter this season and tracked a deer on the path that Peter walked. My personal knowledge of the woods helped me find Peter. Plus a bit of luck and destiny.

@@Killemgrillem00 Yes, I read after I wrote this that he had dementia and perhaps he thought he was out in the bush in Africa and kept going and couldn't get out. That must have been very hard for you to find him in that state. RIP Peter.

@@richterr6435 These woods when lost here are very very thick. And at 82 years old would be a big problem. The temperature first night was 31 degrees, not good for an overnight in the woods . It was not hard to find him in that state, it was what it was. I knew he wouldn't be alive. Also 20 years as a NYC fireman prepared me for anything. His body after 19 days missing because of the cold was in good shape.

Peter Beard was fully aware of what was happening and during that time covid lockdowns, April 2020. International fear mongering and political BS, he probably had enough and decided to isolate himself like an old elephant to die. I remember him as obsessed with the book 'heart of darkness' Besides that, I don't think he was happy in his private relationships anymore. RIP Peter Beard
