I still think to this day that this was the only year Holden fans wanted a Ford to win. I know I did. I wish I could have witnessed Brocky racing flat out in person. I wasn't old enough to remember him racing in the early 2000's. And I wasn't around to witness the 70's, 80's and 90's. Brock has the respect for everyone, and everyone has respect for him, because he was the legend he was. Peter Perfect, although passed, will live on as long as Australia has its "Great Race"

You missed quite a sight. Brock would come sideways across the top of the mountain, elbow on window sill, and hed hang a few waves out the window whilst gooing into to esses driving one handed. He was fucking amazing CHARASMATIC??? 🤯🤯🤯🤯 You should have met him in person .....

“I took a last lap round the mountain hall Stopped on Skyline and messaged the wall Got back in my car and drove away Down the Esses where the great man roared Through Forest Elbow flat to the floor And watched his spirit leave down Conrod Way Then a cold chill swept over me At the Chase I couldn’t see My eyes were filled with tears As I thought back through the years When Brockie and his Holden 05 Both made me glad to be alive Now he’s gone and i just....cried That day, when Brockie..........died. So bye bye mister zero five Drove my Holden down to Caltex but the bowser was dry The checkout chick was looking teary-eyed Saying “Brockie’s gone and I don’t know why This will be the day that I died.”

This was a very dark and heavy week for Australian icons. Steve Irwin: the famous crocodile hunter, was also killed at the beginning of the same week that Brocky died. I heard of Steve's passing just before I went to school on a Monday morning. But I remember Peter's passing more vividly, perhaps because I am a car guy. I remember that day, 10 years ago now: it's painted so vividly in my mind. I could take you to my grandparent's house in Sydney and take you to the point where I heard he crashed his car (I couldn't remember if he was confirmed dead or not at that point on that damp Friday afternoon).

Ben Ward I was told about Steve in the same way, I was getting out of the car for school, and it came on the radio, I didn't want to go to school, my parents let me have the day off for Brocky

Ben Ward, there were actually 3 great Australians that lost their life that week. Colin Thielie, author, must have just died after Steve Irwin, on the Monday, and the great man, Peter Brock, Friday.

a minutes silence doesn't work when you put crappy music over the top. i dont know if it was you who made this video or someone else, but that music needs to go

Josh Muggleton : Unfortunately it’s on the DVD highlights of this race. Only way it can be removed is to fade it out on re-Recording it. Nevertheless, it’s a tribute to the man that inspired us in many ways, and he will always be to me and many others, the King Of The Mountain.

(....groan....) Almost all of the Touring Car / Ch 7 commentators have _always_ babbling twits. No - the memorial trophy was not "simplistic". No - obviously, Brock was not "an athlete" - but he was a sportsman and a champion competitor. No - the VC Commodore was not "controversial for him"....groan....) Touring Car / Ch 7 commentators have always been dopey. No - the memorial trophy was not "simplistic". No - obviously, Brock was not "an athlete" - but he was a sportsman and a champion competitor.
