Peter Cetera (& Chaka Khan) - Feels Like Heaven (Guitar Cover)

I have been listening to Peter's 'World Falling Down' album this week and I had to get this song out of my system because I kept playing along with it and found it quite enjoyable. It's a great vocal performance from Peter and Chaka Khan, especially on the bridge. Some cool, and sparse, guitar work from Tim Pierce, and I thought I would try to add some suitable 'Landau' type work on the verses. The amazing sax solo by Chris Mostert was fun to decipher and again showed me some new ways to phrase things. I hope you enjoy! :)

I use a Charvel DK24 (it's purple) into a Boss Me50 (where I get my tone) into a Boss DC-2w (for my Dimension C Chorus tone) into a Palmer Pdi-09 (which simulated a mic'd up cab) into a Focusrite Scarlett into my computer running Logic Pro X (where I add a little EQ and Reverb and for the WDW setup some micro pitch and stereo delays).

Nice phrasing, and your tone is prime! The album is a lesser known-played from Cetera's solo efforts early 90's. I find myself going back to the track , "The Last Place God Made", and "Restless Heart". Cetera was "Chicago" really enjoyed his time with the such a legendary group. Keep up the great work!

Beautiful cover. Love this entire album too. My favorite song off the album is the title track World Falling Down. But this one would be my second favorite. I love the interplay between Peter Cetera and Chaka Khan and the amazing guitar work from Tim Pierce.

Thanks! I have been fortunate enough to try the me80 and me90 for gigs but I still prefer the sounds I can get on the 50. Certainly the chorus on the newer units don’t sound as nice to me.

The only other chorus that grabs me is the ensemble.. but with the me50 you can throw in a few different sounds, a rockman x100 would be a thrill to try but they’ve gone up in price since the 80’s lol nice and clear with what you’re using though. I always look forward to your vids

@user-cc6hd1ok5f I have a series of covers where I just play Steve’s parts from the In The Round concert and I make extra effort to play it how Steve did (as best as I could using the visual elements available.) Learn as much of his parts as possible and you get a feel for what he would do.

It's ashame music changed its direction the way it has. It should go back to this because if it can't get any better then by all means go backwards and that's why I say this dudes stuff is where it's at.
