That is the Peter Criss SWING...his big band, swing, jazz and R&B influences are all over this and worked into a hard rock context, and it kicks ass! Peter Criss was not a flashy, "technical" drummer, but he didn't have to or tried to be...Peter had swagger, groove and above all, swing...and it totally worked with KISS. Paul and Gene can say whatever the fuck they want to that Peter had to be "coached" in the studio, that he was difficult and whatever...bullshit. Peter Criss was and still is a kick ass drummer...long live the ORIGINAL CATMAN!!

Even with the technology of the 70s, Peter was a far superior drummer than his successors. He had a much greater musical breadth and a greater skill set.

Thanks, Peter at this stage was amazing, the groove he had and the feel. But later Criss was terrible in the 70's80's and reunion. But Prime Criss was so so so good, real groove and soul.

No joke ! Peter's drumming on Kiss Alive was kick ass as well Destroyer and those other first Kiss records. Is Eric Singer technically better yes but compare Monster or Sonic Boom to Alive or Destroyer and let me know what albums are better. Music is all subjective anyway and it's not a sport. Peter was great in Kiss's early years ! It's like comparing Satriani or Malmsteen to EVH. Are Satriani and Malmsteen faster and more technical ? Perhaps but I'd much rather listen to an EVH solo than Malmsteen any day ! Malmsteen is impressive for about 20 minutes and then he's boring. EVH was never boring and his music and songs were a thousand times better and more memorable than Malmsteens !

Everyone knows who Peter criss is ..not the other 2..just because Eric Carr could snap the snare or other pieces harder doesn't make him better..if Gene and Paul were not such narcissist d.heads..Peter would have been able to show his talent more not to mention his unique vocals..funny Peter had the biggest hit kiss ever had and ace the best solo album but the d heads always wanna talk down about them.
