I am not a scientist, nor an anthropologist, sociologist or other pure researcher, but I conducted research on aging and longevity from a design point of view for many years. 100% of people wanted to live better longer, not necessarily live longer. Once we start living better longer, then we can focus more on tacking more years or decades in to our lives. These are deeply intertwined so one can lead to the other. Again, just my experience working in the field aging space.

It’s not about how long you live when or if you had a fulfilling life.
@roadrunner96222 жыл бұрын
Agree. And he alludes to this in the first half of the interview. We need to expand the youthful part of life (age 20-50), not just nurse 80-year-olds to keep clawing their way up to 100.

It's great when you see very wealthy, well connected, intelligent people realise life isn't a zero sum game, push for open source and realise that it gives them deep meaning to help others (and themselves) all at the same time. "A raising tide lifts all boats" approach.
@kh92423 жыл бұрын
I was once really into the work of Peter Diamandis but over time my impression of him is that the only people that matter in his world are young people. We are talking people that are 20 to 29 that's it. If you are over 40 you don't exist, you have no value and no possibility for innovation. His work exclusively focuses on youth and opportunities for youth. He also fails to address or acknowledge the downstream impacts of innovation on workers that are displaced by new innovations. He has what I would say is a pre-Pandemic economic world view where systems are still largely optimized for shareholder value as opposed to stakeholder value.
@sprinkle613 жыл бұрын
The ideas are kooky as well. Who wants a virtual coke that can be traded for a real coke, talk about a problem that no one has ! I'm also doubtful on longevity companies as well, since there really has not been much improvement in lifespan in the last 10 years, much less 'escape velocity'. This is a bunch of pie in the sky futurism, that we are not going to see 90 % of. I wouldn't worry about older people, there will be plenty of normal jobs for them. Everything isn't going to change, and most of those young people will still be asking if you want fries with that...
@kh92423 жыл бұрын
@@sprinkle61 Unfortunately most future jobs will involve teaching an AI how to complete a set of tasks. Many people are doing this now but are unaware of it. It takes place in the background. If you use a cloud platform to log issues or solve problems your work is likely being used to improve an MLA and by extension an AI that will at some point replace you.

Great point here in the Uk a company called Immuno Biotech was ran by David Noakes & Lyn Thyer who had a cancer cure called Gcmaf sadly American companies couldn’t let it happen because of the money lost for there useless treatment Chemotherapy that they supply to the UK so UK had them jailed in France for saving lives, Straight up sadly the world these people have created doesn’t allow for inovitive treatments that are not owned by the right people we need to turn that on its head

I see us expanding more into space and other planets, but I think AI and robotics will pave the way on a greater scale than it does currently. Humans traveling long distances in space will continue to be problematic... Breathable air, food storage and production, radiation, isolation, muscle loss, bone density issues, mental issues, the environment in space and other planets are huge obstacles to plan solutions around. But AI and robotics don't have most of those issues, and perhaps we could use them to seed biological life on other planets, foster that life, develop it, and teach it once it reaches a stage of intelligence. Could that same process have been how life developed on earth in the far distant past? Could we be the result of some advanced civilization seeding planets in the universe in order to spread their biology off the home planet? I would love to hear your guests view on the topics of how we will thrive off this planet.
@J-Waz3 жыл бұрын
This planet is our home. No way we can leave IMO. If we do, I think we will die quickly as we have no idea how important earth is to our bodies. I think it's highly ignorant to think we can leave and exist at all.
@russellschaeffler3 жыл бұрын
@@J-Waz currently that is very true, we don't have anywhere to go and we better make sure we don't do irreversible damage to it if we want to survive. I think we need to put more time and resources into creating weatherproof large dwellings that could withstand storms, earthquakes, sun's radiation, tsunamis, volcanos, landslides, objects from space, and the like so we have time to develop technology that may assist our migration. We are finding many planets that are earthlike and we will continue to discover these plants while we develop the technology to reach them. I don't think humans will reach these planets for hundreds of years.But we could send AI-controlled robotics that could withstand the time and distance to get to some of the closes exoplanets. See a documentary called "exoplanets documentary" on youtube which shows some of these exoplanets. Wikipedia also has a page titled "List of nearest exoplanets" the closest so far is about 4 light-years away. I read an article that plans to use lasers to propel very small AI satellites up to 25% the speed of light, if so then under 20 years they could reach the closest of earthlight exoplanets sending back data. If that data proves to be supportable for our form of life we could send humans in suspended animation with AI controlling the ship (Think 2001 A Space Oddessy). Or we could send AI that that could take human eggs and grow them in near obit or on the planet. Over time they would populate the planet.
