It's really interesting how different his performances are in the these two films, despite having almost exactly the same lines. In the British version his character seems so much sweeter, kinder, more genuinely in grief. In the American version he seems darker, colder, more ominous, like he's there for the money more than anything. Dinklage is an amazing actor. :)

Definitly like the british1 better,as said be4 it's more subtle and natural which makes it funnier,the american1 is trying too hard and all the music and overexplaination ruins it.(Like with the bj refference that has scarred me 4life) DINKLAGE IS BRILLIANT in both though, but in the first one he seems sweeter and really in love with the dad,in the american he just seems like a cold goldigger...which actually confirms my point about his brilliantness,how he makes the same character so different!

Hollywood simply can't match British subtlety. More money and higher output doesn't equal quality.
@sarairosenbaum12 жыл бұрын
Wow. Dinklage's original performance is nuanced, restrained, hilarious and real. Second go-round, you can tell he's kind of disgusted at how hammy and dumb the remake is and is kind of gritting his teeth and thinking 'just a paycheck, it's just a paycheck, say the lines and get it over with.' He's an artist, he deserves better, and he knows it.

In the British version his name was Peter? Was he playing himself? XD Also, I've seen Dinklage in 3 or 4 roles, but Tyrion's the one that sticks out the most in my head, mostly because it's a TV show and I see him weekly, and also it's the first thing I saw that made me notice him (he usually does smaller roles). Is he doing something with his voice here? The pitch is much higher than as Tyrion.

It always bugs me how in British films the characters talk like Americans. As an example, I can't speak for the whole UK, but outside of television, I have never heard a Brit say "sure" when asked something. We also don't ever say "Uh-huh" or "God damn it" and if someone did, people would look at them funny.
@NotSpillingTheTea3 жыл бұрын
Really? You’ve never heard a Brit say “Sure”, God damn it” or “Uh-huh”? You’ve clearly never been to Dorset, Hampshire, Essex, Suffolk, Staffordshire or Yorkshire. Counties I’ve lived in and heard all 3 of those words/phrases in.
