For the last 8-9 years ever since the EPL broadcasted in my country came from the global feed rather than the sky sports one,Peter Drury for me slowly has taken over as the best football commentator I’ve ever listened. He brings so much enthusiasm and passion in his work on any type of games on any type of occasions is just amazing. his way of describing and commentating of key moments in the match whether it is a goal,send offs,saves,misses and many many he has a great use of words to describe it. It’s in a way quite poetic. No disrespect to Martin Tyler,Alan Parry,Ian Darke,John Champion,Jim Proudfoot,Clive Tydessley and Rob Hawthorne who are all great commentators in their own rights but Peter Drury really takes it to a whole different level.

Peter Drury talking about the difficulty of distinguishing players from each other on the fly, and all the details one must look at to do so gives me a new appreciation for the difficulty of that task for color commentary of all team sports. As an American, I specifically think of American football games, where not only the faces of the players are partially concealed by helmets, but also the name-plates (and some college teams don’t even have, Penn State being a notable example) can be lost in a pile of players in a tackle. The same can be said for ice hockey, with the tackling difficulty replaced with the difficulty of commentating on the sport’s frenetic pace of play and constant substitutions. Man, I don’t even think I’d be able to commentate golf.

It's entertainment and they hav a massive impact on your enjoyment. Peter drury is fantastic but the guys at the top right now is ally McCoist and Clyde! My faviourite commentary from Peter Drury was in the 2011 Champions League semi final where Lionel Messi tore Real Madrid apart, and for one of his goals Peter just said "Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful". Peter's a worthy successor to Brian Moore and Peter Brackley.
