@@bobthebear1246 Clapton has his own unique, emotive style & tonal character but he tends to stay in the Blues box. It serves him & no one can replicate his touch but Frampton was _all over_ the fretboard & had the greater melodic imagination, in part because he wasn't locked into Blues structures.

Frampton was one of Bowie's lead guitarists on his "Glass Spider" tour back in 87ish (I was able to attend one of the shows). Frampton had been out of the limelight for several years due to a serious car accident & some subsequent drugs issues that followed. Bowie helped him get his "mojo" back with performing. They remained life long friends. I have seen him in recent interviews, he is totally engaging & very charming, aside from his musical talents.

Another interesting fact about Peter is he’s an excellent teacher/coach with music, just like his dad was. If you’ve seen the movie Almost Famous, Peter taught the actors how to play guitar/move on stage etc. He also wrote a few songs for Almost Famous with Nancy Wilson from Heart. She was married to Cameron Crowe at the time & this movie is based off of how Cameron became the great journalist & producer that he is now 😊

I haven't seen anyone describe the way that it works, so I will. That tube carries the sound of the guitar straight up the tube and into the player's mouth, where the actual sound resonates inside the mouth, and you can shape the sound with your mouth the same way you do words, which is then picked up by the microphone and put out through the PA. Such a weird, cool invention.

I fell in love with Frampton when I was about 12 years old. In tween parlance: he was SOOOOOO CUUUUUTE!!! and he could PLAY!!! I got to see him live once when I was in my 20s: he was opening for Stevie Nicks, promoting the album "Premonition" (which I went out & bought the next day). However, I've had reason to fall in love with him all over again at age 56 when I read his autobiography. He's sweet, funny, humble, and absolutely refuses to say anything bad about anyone. I mean, you can tell when he didn't like something, but he was so nice about it. It was a good read, and I'm glad to know that he is just as nice as he seemed to my tween self.

@@cheryljackson5659 Nice. Never saw Fleetwood Mac but would have loved to. I saw Lindsey Buckingham by himself at the San Francisco Palace of Fine arts twice in early 2000s. Quaint venue and close to the stage seats. Also saw Eddie at a Freebee concert on the beach in Santa Cruz. Every song on Eddie Money's 1st album was great. The 1977 Day on the Green was my 1st concert as well. I was 16. Pretty hard to beat "A Day on the Green" in the afternoon at the Oakland Coliseum in those days. Imagine the Vietnam War had just ended a couple yrs earlier. Elvis passed in 77. Lynyrd Skynyrd's plane crashed a few months after I saw them in the summer of 77. Love the timelessness of Classic Rock n Roll songs/music. Was just listening to a Bob Seger playlist. I live in Chico CA. now. Staying healthy and still listening to the music.

Thanks, J, another great classic! My grandson turned me on to this video. Full disclosure, I told him I subscribed to your channel. His response: That Jamel is a cool guy and spreads the peace. No kidding. Keep doing what you do!

I used to loooove Peter Frampton; not just his music, but his smile and long, blonde curls. Something came on with him around '08 and my husband just laughed. "It is a good thing you're blind or you would be heartbroken now!" I told him "Whatever...I still love YOU even though you lost your blonde curls in your early 20s". It shut him up and we could settle down to listen to Frampton.

I believe that guitar he is playing went down in a plane crash, frampton was not on the plane, the guitar was recovered from the crash site,it was lost for decades, and recently returned to frampton

Peter Frampton and David Bowie went to the same college and jammed together at times. They worked together several times over the years. Peter’s father, Owen Frampton was an art teacher at the college and was a huge inspiration for both of their careers. It must have been a magical time for them as many of the students from that time still keep in touch with each other to this day.

I got to see Peter in concert the summer of 2019. I never thought I'd get to see him live i mean the song came out in 1976 and I was born in 91. Dad showed me a lot of music growing up and is one of the ones that helped me start playing music. That concert was a spiritual experience

Frampton Comes Alive still holds the record for Best Sales of a Live Recording of all time. When this came out, nothing else touched it as the Record influenced so many artists to come and still does. Frampton is still great, still sounds great. His cover of Jumpin Jack Flash by the Stones is awesome on the recording since I know you often do originals vs. covers.
