The language that you asked about is Wolof, a Senegalese and Congolese language. Peter Gabriel incorporates music and languages from many countries. He is always speaking out for those who need a voice, in 2006 he received the Man of Peace award from the Nobel Peace Prize Laureates.

Paula Cole's duet on "Don't Give Up" at this concert is so exquisite! And this was only her 3rd performance on the tour - she was still at university 10 days earlier. kzbin.info/www/bejne/b2nPf36grL6nl7c

As a drummer of over 50 years I absolutely love African beats & the drums on this song are exquisite. If you like live performances I strongly suggest you watch Pink Floyd, Comfortably Numb (the remixed & re-edited version) from their Pulse Live concert. One tip I will give you so that you don't get slaughtered in the comments is DO NOT pause during the guitar solos. It's probably best to save your comments until the end as pausing often destroys the flow of the music.

A few other great Peter Gabriel live performances, from the same concert: *COME TALK TO ME* kzbin.info/www/bejne/sIKXq4yJiq-absU (the concert opening, also with Paula Cole) *SHAKING THE TREE* kzbin.info/www/bejne/aZC0aGyiodhknJI about women's rights, specifically in Africa ...and his famous song *BIKO* about Stephen Biko, a black activist who was beaten to death by police in South Africa. He was beaten with a hose and his head rammed into a wall, then driven 700 miles where he was thrown naked into a jail cell, where he died. His death eventually led to the end of Apartheid. Apartheid was a system of legalized racial segregation that existed in South Africa from 1948 to 1994. There are many great versions of the song, this one (from Peter Gabriel's official channel) is from a concert and shows scenes from the documentary Cry Freedom: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oqa5oaaDaL50ndk

For something earlier in his career with Genesis, give a listen to Firth of Fifth. It's from the album Selling England by the Pound.

This is from 1993. Anything by Peter Gabriel is great. Just makes you happy listening. I'll bet you'd really like Shaking the Tree, by him. (Same tour) 😊 kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z5Pdmpariaedjpo You can understand the words better in the studio version.

I could be wrong, but I believe the small picture size helps avoid copyright claims.
