Hey Robert!! When I go to grab a RATT album, I always pick dancing undercover. I think as a whole it's one of the more consistent albums. Other than out of the cellar which personally I've heard too many times.😂

I love that self-titled Peter Gabriel album, his first of four-straight self-titled albums. I was blasting Modern Love in the car this week. That is a great music video (or "promotional film"). Another awesome Bob Ezrin production (so hence Dick Wagner), although I don't think Peter was pleased with it. The Modern Lovers invented the whole "awkward rock" thing, even before Jerry Harrison's next band, Talking Heads! Way, way ahead of their time, like you say. Love 'em. I remember being blown away to learn singing guy in There's Something About Mary was their leader. California Paradise on Queens Of Noise is a great track, even if it is a ripoff of Rebels Rule by Iron Virgin. Joan Jett knew her UK glam rock. Analyzing Ratt's creative process cracked me up.

Hey Robert. I had that Aorta album back in '69, and like first Ultimate Spinach album the year before it arrived a little too late to the psychedelic ball. 1969 was a heavy blues rock/hard kind of year, so it sounded dated at the time. But like most vintage psych of the time now sounds cool in a chintzy kind of way, so it's cool that you gave it a little profile here.

I saw where that album Aorta was one of only two albums that Robert Christgau ever gave his rarest and worst grade score: an E-. I gotta say, he’s probably right…that album just….can’t be real. But, great Peter Gabriel album! The Modern Lovers album I think is pretty good. The Runaways’ album is very good; they were dismissed and panned back in the day as just a sleazy pervert marketing ploy because Kim Fowley (one of the most monstrous figures in all of music) managed and controlled them, but the girls all went on to have great solo careers, so kudos to all of them! Fun fact: Fowley’s 1972 album I’m Bad is coincidentally the only other album to receive an E- from Christgau lol

Apparently the tougher girls like Joan and Lita could stand up to Fowley, Joan seemed to have the closest relationship with him. The younger girls like Cherrie and Jackie had a rougher time with Fowley, it seems.

I like the Skylabs shirt! I follow that guys channel too. I agree about the quality of the second pressing of Modern Lovers, sounds pretty bad. I traded my copy of the 80s Rhino reissue for it, and I regret it; that reissue sounds great and has ‘I’m straight’ on it.

I've got the first two The Runaways LPs but I didn't know they had a third one (other than the Live in Japan one that I don't have). My favorite is their self-titled debut. What's the name of the third studio album? And great, I didn't realize Freddie Mercury's voice was auto-tuned on the new remix. I wasn't going to get it but I decided to let curiosity get the best of me and I ordered it. I should have known this was going to be the case. I've been watching the YT channel Wings of Pegasus and the guy that runs that channel showed how Freddie's voice had been auto-tuned and I think pitch control on a previous reissue. This seems to be happening on almost everything being released nowadays. And I hate that more than I can say. Maybe I can get my money back and just not open it? Brian in Fort Worth 🎶

The Runaways actually had 4 studio albums, and 1 live album, "Live In Japan". Live in Japan is my favorite, because they sound more powerful and heavy than on their studio albums, and two great songs called "Gettin' Hot" and "I Wanna Be Where The Boys Are", only appear on this Live In Japan album.

Robert, I bet you a cup of coffee, if Freddie Mercury was still alive, ''they'' would not have auto- tuned his vocals. When you get a chance, count the rain drops on Gabriel's windshield, they may have eliminated some of them, for the reissue.

I've never had the Queen album on vinyl. I had it on cassette and have the 1995 cd. I listened back to back on streaming at cd quality to the new mix and then the 2011 mix. The vocals and drumming sounded fine on the new mix, but the songs didn't really seem very alive. Listening to the 2011 mix, the songs come alive and are more dynamic, especially Brian's guitar and his solos. My friend bought the new cd and is totally bewildered by it. I've heard it and physically shall just avoid it. PGs song Before The Flood was also recorded and used on Robert Fripp's solo album Exposure. The version on that album is superior to the PG first album version.

I forgot to respond to the remixes. Just as upsetting as remixes: Director's cuts or special edition versions of classic films, when I just want the damn original super 8 cut as it was seen on the big screen. I'm not even a Star Wars fan, but I was surprised to find there are like no original theatrical versions on Blu-Ray. We're stuck with the ugly ass '97 computer animation of Jabba. The Star Wars universe makes my head hurt. Or The Exorcist's "The Version You've Never Seen Before". Don't give me fan service, give me the original print please. The Warriors director's cut was awful too. Hmm, couldn't find anything on the Modern Rubbers! I have pre-Aorta single The Exceptions "My Mind Goes Traveling".

Excuse Me by Peter Gabriel makes me laugh my ass off. Definitely silly sounding. And wtf. How can we be in 2024, and no one still hasn't made a mash up video of Body Talk by Ratt with The Golden Child movie? Considering half of the damn song must be in the movie during the biker house fight. If I had the chops, and know how on how to edit videos. Then I would've made that video years ago. I just don't get how someone else hasn't done it yet. And yeah, what a stupid inner sleeve. Oh yeah, silver vinyl. The only sorta easy one I know of to find is Rock And Roll Machine by Triumph. Good luck ever finding a mint copy of that. You will never get those fingerprints off of that album once you touched it.
