I seem to have rediscovered Peter Gabriel and I find him disarmingly candid and sweet. It’s like he has no ego, just completely genuine.

"Six of the Best" is all we have of that show. Pete was under huge financial debt & receiving death threats and his old bandmates came to his aid.

Been a Peter Gabriel fan since I was about 14 , I'm now 53 . Don't see that ever changing !

Gabriel was going through a very difficult time during this period - hence his less than jovial demeanour. Genesis dug him out a big hole. No less than he deserved, considering his contribution to the band.

Peter Gabriel, I think, is one of the best people I've ever seen in multiple media yet never met. Seems like a GREAT guy, and I also love his music. Big Time. (No pun intended, but it's there, inherently.)

PEter Gabriel has inspired me ever since I first saw the Lamb Lies Down On Broadway show in Chicago. I saw that show twice. Once before the album was released and once after it was released. He has always been an inspiration and has provided countless hours of music and bliss. Thank you Master Gabriel !

Having just fallen upon this video it just reminded me that I actually attended the gig, with a whole car of my mates. The concert was OK, but everything else was absolute shit. There was so much mud everywhere hardly any of the cars could move out of the car park. It took so long to get on the road that that I become so tied I got lost several times getting home and did not actually arrive back in Kent until sometime after 12 noon the next day. Absolute hell, so bad, no wonder I had forgotten ever going in the first place. Peter must have thought the Gods were against him that day, and at that time in his life, maybe they were, as they were most certainly against myself.

It's amazing that in June 2012, the 30th Anniversary WOMAD will be held in Charlton Park, Wiltshire, England! The team of folks (including Gabriel) who organized the first and all the subsequent festivals have created something of lasting value.

Where did you hear that ? (and why should he help poor people? - not "how", but why?) How and why Peter Gabriel helps poor people is his own private concern. It is wrong for outsiders to judge or guess who the man is. Leave him alone. He is a good man. He writes some good music too...

Dear Prudence He's incredibly shy. His shyness nearly got him killed once. I shook his hand after a gig in London, and he turned bright red and shot across the road in front of a taxi, which just missed him.

@SpaceCattttt12 жыл бұрын
What a strange interview! I mean, why'd they put Peter in the middle? Usually, the interviewer sits opposite his subject and they hold a "normal" conversation. But here , Peter looks like he's being questioned by the police! And about the Milton Keys show? That's where Peter wanted to play drums on "Turn It On" but had to give up, since he couldn't get his head around the 13/8 tempo. WTF? He wrote "Solsbury Hill" and that's in 7/4! What's the problem? Even "Don't Give Up" is trickier!

Peter (in his own words) is a very poor drummer

Odd you say that. Those two behaved like police, the gatekeepers of rock They were curiously condescending to musicians of all genres. As a result they both lost favour, and disappeared into ‘somewhat obscurity’

Who's idea was it to put the interviewers on either side of Gabriel. Ridiculous. No wonder he looks uncomfortable. By the comments below though, it seems as that a lot of people just don't get the arid dryness of Gabriel or Hepworth and Ellen. Very English
