@John Harrison, I agree, I am 68, loved this song since it was first released. It brings me much peace, & calm, esp. when life gets so hard. I play it on an hour loop vidio I found on UTube!! Never tire of it, it's a BIG part of the soundtrack of my life, as is much of the music of Peter Green & the Original Fleetwood Mac.🎶💚🎶💙🌟💯

to the poster of the vid: BB King did not say anything about Green being white. What he said was: "He has the sweetest tone I ever heard; he was the only one who gave me the cold sweats"

Correct. I've been quoting BB saying this about Peter for decades, whenever I hear someone say "Who's Peter Green?". Said it to somebody unfamiliar with him just the other day when we got the bad news. RIP to one of the only guys who could say it all with a single note, like BB, Albert, etc.

WHEN HAS PETER GREEN EVER BEEN “UNDERRATED” or “UNDER APPRECIATED”?!?!
@tiffsaver3 жыл бұрын
@@ringer4883 Your question is clear proof of your utter stupidity. Test me. Just go out on the street and start asking everyone you see, "What do you think of Peter Green." Then ask the same people, ''What do you think of Eric Clapton or Jimi Hendrix." My original statement is 100% correct, in spite of you moronic comment.

My Blues hero Peter Green. I listen to all kind of music but American and British Blues are incomparable. The thing with Blues is that it makes you happy and sad at the same time, no other type of music can do that. Plus you got the sweet guitar sound of Peter Green.

How long did it take me, as a 70's teenager and listening to T Rex, Alice Cooper, Sweet and so on, understand what this man was doing? Picked up the guitar at 17, it was Status Quo, Grand Funk, Sabbath and all that stuff. But when I first heard "Albatros", tears ran down my eyes...huu...something beautiful has touched me deep inside

I was fortunate to get hipped to F. Mac around 1974, I think, via a cutout (bargain) copy of "Fleetwood Mac In Chicago", the USA 2 lp version. Played several songs from that album in blues bands after that, in the '70s, such as "Ooh Baby" (his adaptation of Howlin' Wolf's "Killing Floor").

Peter Green was justifiably proud of Albatross when he composed it. To me - all the qualities of Peters playing and compositional skills which guitarists and non-guitarists so admire him for are present in this one piece of music. The grace, the haunting beauty and blues-drenched soul are all there. Great to see that this talented man seems to have achieved a degree of freedom from torment in his life. I think Nigel Watson deserves some credit for this.
