Yes, Peter Green messed up in his life, but he is still here with us. And just remember what exactly this man has contributed to music over the years before even considering a single criticism. If this man never played again, and let us all hope that that never happens, he has earned his right to be called a guitar ledgend on a par with Clapton, Hendrix, Beck, and the rest.

Met Peter Green in a dressing room at a teen club they were booked into for two nights in Michigan. Handed him my Stratocaster, he handed me his Les Paul. He had the strap screwed down on the upper bout. A nice chunk of leather, an old cinch from a saddle. You can see it on many of the videos from around that time. Maybe one of the most quietly charismatic men I've ever encountered. My admiration deepened from the songs he wrote, he was really tuned in to the big power of the universe at that time. A fragile soul, and just a lovely man. All we local Michigan guitar stranglers were sitting down front, with Peter and Danny Kirwin blowing our hair back with Twin Reverbs. We started to take bets on when Mick Fleetwood was going to crash a cymbal. Me, Geri Zubal, Phil Bliss and Thomas Weschler, some other fellows too. Two nights of inspiration, and amazement. Great band,,,great,,,

This reminded me of Sun King by the Beatles, and then I read this song was George Harrison's inspiration for it. Harrison said: "At the time, 'Albatross' (by Fleetwood Mac) was out, with all the reverb on guitar. So we said, 'Let's be Fleetwood Mac doing Albatross, just to get going.' It never really sounded like Fleetwood Mac... but that was the point of origin."
