Fascinating chaps. The knowledge, reverence and passion with which you speak about Peter is really fitting! You two should write a book!

Thank you so much for this video. Peter Green was a guitar hero from my teen years in the mid 70s. When I started to learn to play guitar a couple of years ago he became one of my inspirations. I am saddened that we lost him and so wish he was still with us and playing today.

Thank you very much for doing this on the anniversary of Peters death. I never got to see him play and hearing your stories of him is so nice. I have collected most of his work now and was bought Rufus Publications Albatross Man for a special birthday . I am so glad he got his “Moment in the Sun” again playing with the Splinter Group. I think he still had “it” but it was too painful for him to revisit that playing. 🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎶🎶🎶

Hi Guys, I am a mental health worker who back in the early 2000s bought a couple of tickets to a splinter group concert at the Espy in St Kilda , Melbourne. A young bloke I had been working with was struggling with his mental health but was also a gifted guitarist. Before the concert I spoke with their team about the possibility of Peter being able to have a chat with the young bloke and was told it might be possible but they couldn’t be sure. As it turned out we didn’t get to have a chat but all these years later he remembers that concert as something that gave him hope and to this day he is still playing and is able to manage gigs with some supportive friends.

I LOVE that Kirk Hammet shows up with that Les Paul and Peter Green treats it like a girlfriend who cheated on him

I saw Green w/ Splinter Group in Dublin a few years ago. First off, nothing but love for Peter Green, a total legend and of all the guitar gods, he is my favourite and inspiration. However the Splinter Group gig, I’m sorry, was one of the worst gigs I had ever been to but it was great seeing him in the flesh. QUESTION: There was a Facebook photo of Peter Green playing a Firebird (impossible to see the make of it) anyone know what happened to it?

EDIT: it was a 2013 Gibson USA Firebird V w/ the Steinberger gearless tuners… sold by Bonhams for £5,440 in June 2023. I will find it and buy it. Oh yes, she will be mine.

I saw the Splinter Group a couple of times in the 90s. Even though I was only a teenager I had been a devout disciple for years by then. This was pre internet and I actually thought he was dead! When it was announced I couldn’t believe it, it was like he’d been resurrected to fulfil my fantasy. The gigs were pretty bizarre, he wasn’t fully present. He was in a bit of a daze and breathing heavily into the mic. When the solo for Black Magic Woman came along, Nigel Watson played it! I couldn’t believe it. The second time was much better, they had a pair of fender resonators which had Lace Sensors fitted. They sounded superb, they did some Robert Johnson and a blinding version of Albatross. I forgave them, but not fully 😂

Hard to believe it’s been four years. I so remember seeing your moving tribute at the time, Ramon - Peter clearly meant a lot to you. He was a very special talent 🎸👍
