I walked to the pub on Saturday night, passing the old church...I'm not a believer. I was happy and prepared to bite my tongue and buy an apple pie and a pint, or whatever it took! I entered the vestibule and saw around a dozen large notices and a large Sanitary station and directions for filling in my name and address. I looked through to the empty bar and saw a girl there and I wondered what rule I would infringe, even before asking what the rules were, with regard to me buying a pint. A family were standing waiting for me allow them to exit, giving me an evil eye, over their designer masks. We did the usual covid sidestep. I looked around and thought, "No, it's impossible. I'm really not a believer. " and turned and walked home again. Past the other pub now closed. An empty bus drove past.

Imagine two maskers encountering each other on the street. What reason do they have to make eye contact? They are no longer human beings sharing social space. They are desperate cowering creatures who look like bandits, simultaneously looking threatening while feeling terrified. This is why masks have been mandated--they are a tool designed to destroy communities by forcing people to fear and loathe one another. They aren't even effective at stopping viral spread. It's social engineering from hell.
