Peter Hitchens: 'BBC and the government have created a panic-demic'

Columnist Peter Hitchens says the BBC and the government have created a "panic-demic" - that people would not have noticed - by the "constant use of horror statistics."
Mr Hitchens says told Mike Graham on talkRADIO that in many of his discussions with lockdown supporters "they assume that I am stupid and malevolent", he went on to criticise the "rage" directed at people who had "opposed lockdown from the start."
He added that he was "all in favour of data if people if people look for it in a properly impartial and balanced fashion."

The worldwide media is controlled by corrupt SAGE. They use Public Manipulation methods, which I have copies of in print over on my Twitter a/c. Absolutely disgusting how they actually plan how to scare the public into submission and servitude and like lambs to the slaughter they went!! It was SAGE who advised the Govt to implement masks, NOT for public health purposes, but rather to gauge public compliance. Astonishingly, the sheeple took to their masks like a duck to water and now wont get rid of them. If the masks started to disappear, the Govt would start realising the people are turning against them, so DITCH THE MASKS!!!!!

It’s clear that all governments want to collapse the economy and have total control. Why is this still allowed to happen all over the world? Why are the governments allowed to do this without a stronger challenge? It’s the biggest crime against humanity ever! How is another lockdown been allowed to happen? There are still one or two reasonable reporters/contributors in the Newspapers. But they are decidedly thin on the ground. As are the Papers themselves. Realistically, one needs Internet access and the will and intelligence/understanding to dig around and winnow the wheat from the chaff. There is LOTS of chaff. But yeah. It's depressing. Especially listening to some friends and family. The utter cack they hear and fucking well swallow and believe. Aphorism: "If there are people today who don't believe that many governments can act stupidly at the same time, then they know nothing about the causes of the First World War or, at least, one of its major causes, which was a series of alliances between competing, highly industrialized, and heavily armed nations. These pacts of mutual benefit and protection were thought by many to make wars less likely but what they did was make it possible for a single incident to create a domino effect and expand hostilities from one country to another. What ultimately happened, in other words, was that each country, feeling obliged to honour its commitment to its ally, sided with either one of the two grand alliances (i.e., the Allied Powers and the Central Powers) and thereby involved itself in an increasingly expanding, out-of-control war."

the primary focus of the outcome of the first world war was to establish the Balfour Declaration (well it was twisted to perform that fate by the tribe when they saw their opportunity to intervene). World War II was started to drive people to the country created by the Balfour Declaration. Before you disagree, look up the transit pact/agreement... would a psychopathic leader let the people he was trying to extinguish ...simply leave the country, with all of their possessions (the cost of moving even large furnishings was provided by the state)? Also, consider the Bolshevik uprising in Russia, what ethnic group was largely represented in the Bolshevik ranks and the fact that Russia invaded Poland at exactly the same time Germany did (Germany had a valid reason to protect ethnic Germans from massacre... what was Russia's excuse?... Why didn't we declare war on Russia as well?). when all of this is considered, plus the knowledge of who largely owns and controls the mass media these days... what is this current covid response 'agenda' heading us towards? Worldwide communism.

I hate that bbc. I just called a phone-in where they were discussing peoples’ mental health regarding the latest lock up. I referred to Heneghan today telling us that the pcr test can be used more accurately to distinguish between those who are infectious and those who are not, but who currently all supply a positive result and therefore a ‘case’, simply by the number of amplifications that are carried out on the sample. The bloke cut me off just as I was about to ask why, given the large and growing opposition voice, there is no large scale public debate between the heavyweights. Apparently the fundamentals of the situation are not relevant to the mental health of the nation. The bbc is a disgrace.

What do you think about the government's use of statistics during the coronavirus pandemic?
@seabreeze4339
@seabreeze4339 4 жыл бұрын
Manipulation of figures. These deaths are people who have died WITH not OF and what is the age group? Also how many had a comorbidity. All cases are just that, someone who has had a cold in the recent past i.e. the previous year. If you go into a hospital with a broken leg but test positive for Chinaflu you’re classed as a Covid admission. The hospital beds in ICU have been full for the past twenty years at this time year due to normal respiratory illnesses.

There has to be something to guide. But the use of statistics that look ahead are useless, they can be manipulated to show anything. The trouble is that the whole envelope is far too complex to take one item in isolation and base the whole response on that one detail. The best idea is that every one sits on their hands and does nothing for two weeks. Remove all restrictions except hands face and space. And see what happens to deaths. In the end, deaths are the only guide on this disease. But even deaths are subject to fine details. Recently there were reports that Covid was now killing younger people. This is false. Covid does not change, deaths of younger people is probable due to the lack of the NHS dealing with cancers, chemo for the last six months.

Reminds me of the time a mischievous friend and I found the keys for a diesel steamroller at a construction site. We were 8. We got it started. Put it in gear, and drove it around for a bit. Then we got scared, because we were going to slowly crash into a building, tried to turn it off with the key. That didn't work. There was a lever that said "Shut off". I pulled it. The engine slowed down, but didn't quit. At that point I was screaming, "Put it in neutral! Put it in neutral!" And then we jumped off and ran away. Left it running. That's pretty much how the government behaves these days, isn't it?

The current CFR is 0.8% and based on ONS figures for England of 52,000 infections per day from Oct 16th to October 23rd, the whole UK would have been taking around 60,000 infections per day to produce 163 deaths per day which was the seven day average at the end of that period. That gives us an IFR of 0.27%. Given that IFR it would take 800,00 new infections per day or 5.6 million new infections per week to reach 2000 deaths per day and 1.6 million infections per day to reach 4000 deaths per day as predicted.

I'm a public sector worker and I get to work from home on full pay. I don't regard that as a reason to support the lockdown - I've opposed it from the start, lobbied my MP and done everything I can to keep the rest of the economy open so that nobody else has to take a pay cut either. I realise I'm lucky but I don't see why my pay should be cut when I'm working harder than ever. It wouldn't help anyone else. I don't understand why Mike Graham, who is presumably still on full pay, wants to single out the public sector for pay cuts? It's not a public/private issue. The Southbank Centre staff are public sector workers and they were furloughed and then laid off, all while private-sector Mike Graham continued on full pay. The issue is a lot of people's livelihood has been destroyed by the government. That's what we need to stop.
