Peter Jackson's dwarves when charging from Erebor in The Hobbit versus Netflix's dwarves when charging Nilfgaardian soldiers in The Witcher. A slight difference.

With all respect and wanting to not offend. Those Nilfgaardians aren't soldier, neither Warriors. They are like this cliche represents... I call it: DISPOSABLE TOYS. It's a common cliche soldiers or armies in fantasy could not give fight and survive despite their years of training and armoury. Humans, Elves, Orcs, Ogres, Minotaurs, or wathever, this makes me a bit dissapointed.😅

Netflix Witcher gave us an actual dwarves though & I think it feels more grounded, which is fit with low grimdark fantasy of Witcher world.

For anyone who clearly didn't read the books, the Dwarves are like that. Only Mahakam warriors and such maybe could look like ur average fantasy bullshit. I prefer the realistic one that shows how short people truly should look like. Besides Yarpen's band should look like a bunch of random yet dangerous peoplr

This is the description of Dwarves from the Witcher, which were heavily inspired by Tolkiens Dwarves', which were inspired by the real life mythological Norse race of Dwarves. "Dwarves are short and stocky, generally around the height of a human male's chest. They are more sturdy than humans, which makes them tougher and stronger, a key factor that makes them ruthless in combat. They usually grow long beards, which the women are also fully capable of growing. Female dwarves have a reputation from humans to be extremely unattractive, and are generally only desired by male dwarves, despite the males believing otherwise and being very protective of their wives and daughters" Literally copy and pasted from Tolkien which is the general concept of a stereotypical fantasy Dwarf, you clearly don't know your literature or mythology.

@@gazza7693 Being "Stocky" doesn't mean you're a ball of fat though. It's hard to translate tho cause "krępy" and "stocky" have slight different meanings.
