If you’re in the US, you might be able to see some of his aircraft, several have been acquired by Kermit Weeks of Florida, he’s flown them in to Sun ‘n Fun and a couple other flyins. The part that still astounds me on these aircraft is the barebones simplicity, for example, YOU are the carburetor. That sound during landing of the engine sputtering? They’re bleeding airspeed by, quite literally, stopping the engine for small periods. The fact that a human crawled in there, took it up in the air then purposefully flew into combat with them? Nuts.

I have many memories of our chats but one in particular was sitting on his knee and being amazed by him telling me the fastest thing he'd ever seen as a lad was a horse that had thrown it's rider. How so much has changed. He said on inquiry of ' what were the Germans like Grandad'? to which he said 'the Germans like beer and sausages, and so do I, the Germans love their Mothers and God, and so do I, but we both hate politicians' how little has changed. Watching this for the 3rd time - First time I was awestruck as I did not know He was so into this part of history. As someone involved in the creative industries, It just made me think, his attention to detail - obsession, just how well he does things, would make anyone wanting to work for him. Those guys who do are lucky chaps.

Fantastic! I love PJ's collection of planes and attention to detail. I had heard he had financial difficulties - i hope not. Also hope WIng Nut Wings comes back, I didn't collect all of those I wanted! Great video. Love it!

What an amazing guy. I had no idea he was a ww1 aircraft collector. Great documentary. Thank you.

Sir Peter, you are an international treasure. Saying Thank You is just not enough. As a side bar: Peter actually flew in a Bristol Fighter (gunner's seat) at the Omaka Airshow 2000!

From collector, to hoarder, to obsessed, he has now evolved into being a bona fide museum curator.

I don't like quoting in youtube comments - but "interesting life for a few precious moments" was well said. Impressive collection, a good example how people with means and a passion can do marvels. Greetings from Latvia, thanks for the insights.

One of the best movie trilogies and best WW1 plane collection. Not bad for a single lifetime.

That's a hell of a collection! It's a damn shame that it's not all on public display throughout the year though. It would make for a fantastic museum.

The ones they flew in this, are actually on (I believe) permanent display when they aren't being flown or restored. I've been there as it's in my hometown and it's amazing
