'4:35 "It wasn't the Ghost Trains Fault." Spot on. It was human greed and evil that caused this fire.

Yes, my Mom insists it was just a tragic accident. I always insisted it was arson after I did my research. Now the documentary has come out, and I'm confident that I'm right. I say this as a coaster enthusiast. No tragedy at any theme park, on any ride, is the ride's fault. It is always the fault of the human(s), whether it is shoddy maintenance, inexperienced operators, or criminal activity. That is one of the most haunting (pun not intended) lines I've ever heard. It was a machine. Machines do not have morality. It could not have decided it wanted to set itself on fire and kill 7 people. That was an act by the humans. I wish I could like that comment 2 million times.

Yes, at the time of it happening 24 hours after I was there as a ten year old, I knew deep down that the fire was no accident, especially after everything was hastily cleaned up and everything sold off.

Peter is as much one of Sydney's treasures as Luna Park, the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House. You must see this Ghost Train model at the Museum of Sydney.

There is a eeriness left in that old park that can't be shaken. It's a great place

you're right. I used to live in NZ (now live in the UK) and in the 80s my friends moved to Sydney .. I went to visit them in 86 and they took me to Luna Park ... we had a great time but every now and then I would remember the Ghost Train fire and a bi of a chill came over me ...

@@booth2710 same. I've gone there since I was little without knowing but always got a bad feeling from their. I never could bring myself to go on anything. I only learnt of this last year.

Many years ago when i first visited the park i had the same feelings a person behind us overheard me say as much to my friend and they told me what had happened it was unsettling to say the least

Amazing that the original tape was salvaged: I'd have liked to hear more of it.

Proof that the inferno wasn't electrical, otherwise the tape would've been destroyed.

I've been trying to find some contact details for Peter but have been unsuccessful so far. I wanted to ask him some questions regarding the build of his most amazing model. I'm a creator myself and would relish the opportunity to pic his brains a little. Could anybody help me please?

Interesting video. Out of respect to those who died and their families and loved ones, I don't believe the Ghost Train should ever return to Luna Park as much as it was one of the main feature rides.

as innocent as it was, it should be left in the past due to its bad history.

Eerie. Mom told me about the accident at age 9. 4 years later, I decided to do some research, which said it was likely arson. My Mom didn't believe me.
