Peter Knight 'From a Lullaby Kiss'

Fiddle player Peter Knight, best known for his 43 year association with Steeleye Span, and now with his trio Gigspanner, is presently working on a new solo album.
By overwhelming request, he has released this song 'From a Lullaby Kiss' in advance, along with a video filmed in the Limousin by French film maker, Perrine Nouvier.

I surround myself with music, because sometimes life is so empty without it. A few times in life a song comes along that is so poignant or special that you know it will be relevant troughout the rest of your life. This is one of those few. Thank you Peter.

Heard Peter sing this at The Apex, Bury St Edmunds. I went to the concert, spurred by the knowledge that my young brother was devoted the the band. He died recently - needless to say this piece moved me to tears. Thank you Peter and Feast of Fiddles - I now know why you have such a following.

What a fantastic song. The Feast of Fiddles gig at the Stables was one of the best I have been to and From a Lullaby Kiss was a high spot. I first saw Peter some (many) years ago at the first gig I ever went to; Steeleye Span at Birmingham Town Hall

Saw Peter perform 'From A Lullaby Kiss' last night (15/4/14) at Lincoln Drill Hall/Feast Of Fiddles. Wasn't familiar with Peter's songs, but now look forward to listening to aforementioned song and others on ''An Ancient Cause'. He said before the song, he was just gonna play a wee tune on fiddle. This intro was breathtaking and beautiful with lyrics to follow equally so. WOW! Feast Of Fiddles, what an evenings entertainment. Solos from different members of the band were all brilliant and combined talents of the 13 artists was spectacularly, toe tapping, hand clapping, chrous singing, head shakingly a heart warming evening. Thanks for publishing such a lovely video (P.S. On my birthday as well)

I strongly recommend that you take the time to familarise yourself with Peter's trio, Peter Knight's Gigspanner, who undertake several UK tours each year. It is by far the best platform for Peter's playing. If you enjoyed his solo, you will enjoy his work with Gigspanner, I'm sure :-)
