Peter Mayhew truly enjoys the role of Chewbacca. I was 7 when Star Wars first came out in May of 1977. I got to see it with my brothers for my 7th birthday. That day was awesome, and still one of my favorite childhood memories.

I asked him if he personally would like to see a Jedi Wookie (Lowbacca for example) in the new films. He said he wouldn't, stating that wookies do not need to Force in order to be awesome. He then kind of talked about the new movie, but I didn't quite understand what he was saying. Nevertheless it was a great experience and an honor to talk with him.

Amazing interview with Peter Mayhew. Listening to how he explains J.J. Abram's filming and directing skill and using old filming techniques I'm very confident as to how epic this movie will turn out. I for one have enjoyed all of J.J.'s movies. I love the new StarTrek movies he directed including into darkness. :)

I'm wondering how they are going to show Chewbacca in the movie? Is he going to be seen walking? Peter walks with a cane these days and doesn't seem very sturdy on 2 legs - is this going to hinder the character of Chewbacca any? Or are going to see Chewbacca primarily in sitting scenes. Are they going to get another 7'2 actor to play the standing and walking Chewbaccca? So many questions!

+bruce wayne its all part of an act. watch any of his interviews (Fallon, Kimmel, SDCC panels) he's having the time of his life. Harrison I mean. When you get down to it he has an extreme amount of respect for george and jj and everyone who made it happen, he just shows it in a different way. Carrie plays it in a joking way, Mark plays it in a nostalgic way, this is just his way of showing his love.
