Peter Minshall will never be forgotten in the history of Trinidad carnival. It is sad that bandleaders and designers like him hardly exists today. Twenty years ago, the Savannah stands were full. I think now that some of the bands are going to SocaDome, it has helped to decrease the attendance at the Savannah. There are not a lot of people going to the North Stand anymore. Also carnival bands have become a scene of women half naked wearing bikinis, bras , beads, feathers and now strings. There Is not really much to see like before. I stayed at a guest house in 2015 and one of the male American guests said he heard the same tune all the time, I guess he was referring to the road march, and all he saw was people in similar costumes gyrating on the stage. He was not impressed. That is one tourist who is not coming back. I really miss the street theatre that we had when I was younger. Very few bandleaders like Peter Minshall are left. Is Trinidad carnival coming to an end for the tourist industry? It seems to be something now for masqueraders to jump up with very little clothes on and have a good time and not for spectators.

This brought back so many memories of that day on the road. And playing in Mas Pieta this year was just as exciting and memorable.

I agree, it was such a memorable time for me...now in my self quarantine it is so refreshing..I am looking to se if I see myself...
