Peter Parker, The spectacular Spiderman #225 Synopsis: "The Green Goblin is back! And the wondrous wall-crawler is out to get him! On the Lower West Side, Spider-Man bumps into the new goblin! But it appears that this version might actually be one of the good guys! In a surprising twist, the web-slinger and the Green Goblin work together to apprehend a homicidal maniac called Firefist! Is this the start of a beautiful friendship? Not exactly. In the meantime, Mary Jane visits Ben Reilly in prison! The trial of Peter Parker begins soon (in Web of Spider-Man 126)! Final verdict: 70/100 . Not bad, but it also highlights the past and current problems of The Clone Saga and modern American comics that started to pop up. So not great either. Nor am I a big fan of this Clone Saga, particular era of American comics partly, because I never actively lived the 90's.

More alien than gorilla. Still I do like this take on the character, but unfortunately it also was the beginning of a lot of problems that would come back to bite Marvel Comics in the future. It was nothing more than a place holder until the real green goblin came back, because they are incapable of killing a character for good

It didn't sound to me like you butchered any of the most common and well-known names of the talent - DeFalco, Buscema, Sienkiewicz, Fingeroth - that you were concerned with. I wasn't ever a fan of The Clone Saga, either. I “only” read issues #1-155 of The Amazing Spider-Man, stopping before that original Saga story in the mid-late '70s. Perhaps that story is good for what it is; reflective of the times, of the world of fiction at the time. I certainly have far less, zero and worse, interest in the '90s regurgitation of the story, involving Ben Reilly's Scarlet arachnid knockoff. That said, without having read this I'd go into this issue with a mind open to be willing to enjoy whatever it has to offer. Plus, I only ever read comparatively early issues of both the Spectacular Spidey and Web of Spidey “alternate” Spider-Man titles. Thank you for going over another tale from the past that I'm fond of, TSPH. Have a great rest of your week.
