It was a moment when America was great. How great? My primary teacher in small town Australia read the "I Have a Dream" speech to my grade two class and then got out her guitar and sang "Blowing in the Wind" - that's how influential.

If I could like this a thousand times, I would. I love their singing so much, and it almost makes me cry to see how music has become so commercialized and almost meaningless beyond mindless entertainment and sometimes even degrading.

Beautiful. Dylan’s lyrics were just what our country needed at the time, and still need today.

Had powerful voices on that hot late summer day in August of 1963.

I had the privilege to attended the March on Washington as a participant in summer camp programs sponsored by the World Council of Churches, and the civil rights movement. This was my first time in America (from Germany), and I had no idea at that time, what a historical day this really was. The powerful spirit of that day, climaxed by Dr. MLK's electrifying "Dream"-speech, Peter, Paul and Mary"s "Blowing in the Wind", Mahalia Jackson, Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, and many other presentations, have accompanied my life to this day. May this, as well as all the other videos about the March on Washington remain available to the public FOREVER!

Way I look at it, is August 28th, 1963, was one of the great days in American History. All the celebs went to March on Washington. Always been a big fan of Peter, Paul and Mary, as they were a excellent trio of singers.

I so remember seeing this on TV, in that summer of '63. I was working but I had access to a 12" TV, so I made certain to see my favorites, PP&M, at that moment. It was so emotional ! What a time it was, to be young. I was 16 y/o, heading to 17, & all of life was ahead. ------WolfSky9

Such a moving performance by the iconic Peter, Paul and Mary. Six months after this I was on my way to the far east. At the time I was attending Navy tech training at Great Lakes Naval Training Center.

Those were the good old days when they had a real peaceful marches. But look what happened to Martin Luther and Kennedy. Our government is not peaceful. We need a bigger March than that on Washington and peaceful and now

The lyrics of these songs are so much more important right now because in 2020 racism and brutality is still rearing it's ugly head....the recent murder of George Floyd and too many other African Americans is beyond horrible....it needs to stop now : (((((((((((((((
