Despite what some people might say, MJ has her point. We love Spiderman but let's put it in MJ's shoes. She falls in love with Peter, the man behind the mask, knowing that he puts his life under the limit every day, without her knowing if he's gonna be okay or not, or having that fear that maybe one day she or any other close to Pete is gonna be caught up on the crossfire, is kind of terrifying too. It's like having a family member in the army or as a cop. You love them and hope for their sake every day, but what if one day that person never returns? Maybe she can't persuade Peter not to be Spiderman, but she's also free to make the decision to be part, or not, of his life.

But you see that’s where she’s wrong what people don’t realize is Peter is doing this for New York how are cops gonna stop the vulture, sandman, big boss, or anybody for that matter yes it’s a risky job but that’s why he hast to do it not because he’s spiderman but because nobody else can Peter knows this MJ knows this. But instead of pushing spiderman under all this pressure she can help him not by worrying about him or making him worry but by being someone Peter can come too when he needs his own super hero but instead of staying by his side and helping him mentally, she leaves, not leaving spiderman but by leaving Peter Parker, obviously it was a strain on her but an unnecessary strain. One she didn’t haft to go through.

I think that’s the he whole point of Spider-Man’s character as well as other heroes. It’s the sacrifice that nobody understands, he’s not supposed to fall in love or have the ordinary family life due to his responsibilities as the hero. MJ or any other person in his life will never understand this journey because they aren’t supposed to, it’s Peters burden to bear. When you are called to greatness like Peter is, it comes with much sacrifice and too many people want both sides of life but you must pick one. Either live a normal life like the rest of humanity or fulfill your purpose as a hero and walk the path alone. You can have support around you but you’ll never be able to do what everyone else does because you’re different.

Dating superheroes is a double edge sword because even if you love them, will they be able to give up their entire superhero career just to settle down with you. Will they be able to come home safe for you because Mary Jane has had to see Peter at his worst and at his best and it scares her so much that I don’t think we as normal people can fathom how much she loves him but hates seeing him hurt and she knows why he’s hurting.

It’s such a shame that every modern cartoon animation’s aren’t as compelling or deep as this these day’s television has gone way too soft to not show real-life struggles, without sugar-coating them or glossing over their impact, instead it’s just your average hero making all people happy without regret or consequences. (for anyone curious or don’t know about what I’m referring to I am not talking about what TV shows were more darker than the other or what is edgier I’m talking about life struggles where the protagonist has to make sacrifices or difficult choices for the greater good even if that goes against their own personal feelings)
