Nope, it isn't. It was sent to him in Japanese language mode. That mode only reads Japanese games. If you go to the settings you can change the language to English so it can read English games and have English text.

Yes, but also no. A lot of the concepts for it and it itself was ahead of its time, but the hardware wasn't really. It used GD-ROMS which only hold 1GB for games instead of DVD tech that held 4.7GB like every other system. Other yhan that, it was amazing

@@BeatBall If you put it into perspective it's not really that big of a failure. It sold 9 Mio. consoles in about 2 years and most of that time it wasn't sold worldwide. The other 6th Gen. consoles weren't that much more successful. The Game Cube sold 21Mio. in 6 years (3.5 Mio. per year) and the Xbox sold 24 Mio. in 5 years (4.8 Mio. per year). The PS2 of course sold over 150 Mio. units, but it didn't compete with the other consoles and dominated the generation. Sega was already struggeling when the Dreamcast was released due to multiple bad decisions in the mid 90's. Also it's not just about the sales figures that determine if a console is actually good. It was the first console with online connectivity out of the box, it had the visual memory unit which added a mini display for ingame menues or maps on the controller and turned into a small handheld console as soon as you unplugged it from the Controller. When the Dreamcast came out in late 1998 it had by far the best graphics on a console and allowed for more complex games than the PS1 and N64. And the games are a strenght off the Dreamcast. Sonic Adventure 1 and 2, Shenmue, and great ports of the big Sega arcade titles just to name a few examples.
