Thanks for the reaction. There are 3 rappers and 4 vocalists in BTS. Kpop isn't really a genre, it's more of an industry in South Korea. This is how Suga from BTS defined kpop when asked in an interview if he considered kpop a genre "K-pop includes not just the music, but the clothes, the makeup, the choreography…all these elements I think sort of amalgamate together in a visual and auditory content package, that I think sets it apart from other music or maybe other genres so again, as I said, rather than approach K-pop as it’s own genre I think approaching it as this integration of different content would be better.” In my opinion BTS isn't just the best kpop group but they are one of the best of groups/artists of all time. They are global superstars competing with the biggest artists of all time and in some instances beating them or surpassing their records. People are so quick to box BTS into the kpop or boy band bubble, I don't see this happen often with western artists. BTS has also said they don't want to limit their hearts and their music to the term kpop. And I kind of wish you would've put BTS' name in the title of the video, but I'm sure you didn't mean any harm in not putting their name in the title. I hope you understand where I'm coming from and I would love to see more reactions to BTS or even the members' solo songs/albums.

BTS… Is way more than k-pop. They’ve really done a great job infiltrating most genres Has 3 rappers and 4 singers Lived together for years and have an unbeatable bond were looked down upon when they first started. Eric Nam stated it best when he said that BTS are underdogs. When they went global, Korea then started to give them their flowers. There’s a running tidbit that BTS are actually full time comedians than idols 😂 you’ll see in their Run BTS shows, in the soop, and bon voyage Army will give you a wonderful list of recommendations to listen to

71 year old BTS Army here. Other groups have singers that rap. BTS has rappers that rap. Suga and RM come from underground rap and J-hope was a street dancer at a young age that basically learned from them. The BTS rappers are the most prolific songwriters of the 7. Most of BTS stats such as awards are usually at least 2 or 3 times the number of the other groups. They have led the way for other groups, and there will never be another BTS! There are a few other rappers that are aknowledged rappers in Idol music: Zico, Jessi, Jay Park, G-Dragon, Stray Kids rapline... But you are right: the majority in Idol groups do have vocalists who (occassional) rap or even people that rap because they can't sing. 💜

Stray Kids rapline not only became full members of the KOMCA last year for their song writing - you should really look up the list of their songs: About every third song has no one but members on song credits and they are also in the other songs. They also have a song with a K-Hiphop rapper. Jay Park has done a lot for K-Hiphop actually - you and i don't have to like him for that - but he has clout in the scene. Why do you think Hobi was on a show with him at "the seasons"(sp?)? G-Dragon I have less knowledge of but he has written a lot, too and began rap early. I think he may have been 9. With him admittedly I have no idea how much he is aknowledged. You should try the K-Hiphop scene because they are different from what you think. Even if - admittedly - most of them didn't study US-Hiphop I guess by now they don't have to. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ It would help you if you look into the K-Hiphop scene. BTW: the only rappers I'm interested in are Yoongi, Hobi and Namjoon.

BTS is in a whole other league. They really can't be compared to other KPop. Their level of talent, artistry, originality, diversity and passion is second to none. Their dance line is world class. Their vocal line is top notch and unique. Their songwriting is being studied in colleges around the world and lyrics of theirs were put in the S Korean National Hangeul Museum as a beautiful example of Korean poetry. Their rappers are among the best in the world, period. Suga, the only member to tour solo thus far, as his alter ego Agust D, completed a world tour last year that was the biggest and most lucrative tour for a rapper in global history. They have close to 1000 awards now. They crank out work as some of the hardest workers in the music indusrty. They are like the Stephen King of music, just prolific, with 20 albums as a group, 12 albums among members as soloists, plus many other collabs, OSTs, singles and covers for a discography many hundreds of songs deep (over 600 with remixes and collabs.) They are currently number 7 in the top 10 best selling artists on earth in the last 30+ years (since 1990) right between Garth Brooks and Rihanna. But I have no doubt they will continue to climb that list and end up in the top 3-5 best sellers of All Time with the likes of the Beatles and MJ, some of whose records they have already broken.

BTS is the best group in the world from my point of view of all time and there are many reasons why I say this 1: the Deep message in their songs 2: choreography and live music are on another level 3: most of the songs have a theme that continues in the other songs 4: their songs are related in literature, psychology, (Carl Jung), psychotherapy.. 5: there is a story line that crosses separately through the songs that a puzzle and you have to figure it out .. 5: their songs save lives ..all regardless if he sings about depression ...anxiety ..sadness ...he tells you to get up and think positive ...There would be a lot to say but us army and even kpopul don't consider Bts as part of this industry. ..they are above K-pop ...

Singing mixed with rapping is something BTS do, and because many other Kpop groups study BTS now many of them sing and rap together. To be precise Kpop is not a genre, it just means popular music of Korea. BTS is heavy with rsp because they started as a hip hop group and then changed to be an Idol group. The first members of the group were underground rappers. I doubt autotune was used in this track.

"Autotune" is used for texture not to correct "bad" singing. And what K-pop is is complex "bby gang mag" may help understand that with his video essays: - BTS vs K-pop (has a section about what K-pop is) - you are wrong about K-pop (because people in North American and European countries missrepresent it) (and as a bonus: "BTS: More Than K-pop") 💜

you might like v's Tiny Desk performance, or his BTS song Stigma (theres a great live performance), he has the most baritone voice of the group and a really unique tone I think. the other end of the spectrum is Jimin with a unique high voice. My fave from him is Serendipity or Letter (both have live performances). for the group as a whole, maybe something like ON Kinetic Manifesto Film or Festa Room Live

BTS are considered just a K pop boy band bcz they come from Korea and dance instead of playing instruments. If we take that as given then BTS are the best boy band in the history of boy bands, not only K Pop. Why ? Because they all wright and compose beautifull and meaningful music (of many different genres) , they are exceptional singers and rapers ,they dance as no other boy band ever danced before ( they are better as dancers than most pop soloist of our times), most of them are playing at least one instrument and last but not least their production of their music and mv are out of this world! As a 54 yrs old ARMY I can say that labeling BTS as a K pop boy band we do not do justice to them and to their work! For exactly the same reasons I mentioned before BTS are the best Pop-not only K pop- Band in the history of pop music! Of course this is just my humble opinion but I believe time will prove me right!

No doubt in my mind they are the best. They have so many hits, even B-sides, their albums I can put on auto shuffle play and let it run. Some other groups are awkward sounding where it's like listening just for the chorus and filler in between. The other groups are more like one hit wonders where they may have a few songs but many more misses. BTS songs LYRICS, MELODY, CHORUS, CHOREOGRAPHY, RAPPING, OUTFITS, are second to none. Their songs are well structured, and because they need to give 7 members a part, my only criticism is that their songs are too short!

With BTS, everything seen in an MV or stuff they put out, all means something. Jimin, Jin, JK and V can all hit the tenor high C. V can go from deep deep baritone to high C. They have over 10yr of experience and content that will blow you way. Each member has a solo album separate from BTS. They are wonderful in all sense of the word. Like @17:45/ there is a part of the inside story within all their albums. It's extensive and sometime you need an explanation videos for to grasp everything. But worth. I suggest... Black Swan. it show BTS incredible range.

K-pop no es un genero, es una industria, la produccion y direccion de MV, conciertos, espectaculos, premiaciones y shows no tienen competencia a nivel mundial. Sus artistas son cantantes, bailarines, raperos, modelos, hacen programas de entretenimiento, son presentadores, actores, Productores y compositores de sus propias canciones.... Cada uno de los chicos englobados en lo que llamamos K-pop ha pasado por una criba muy exigente para llegar a donde estan, años de entrenamiento antes de poder debutar si es que llegan a hacerlo superando a miles de aspirantes con el mismo talento que ellos en todas las facetas que antes dije. Por eso el K-pop tiene todo mi respeto y admiracion desde el ultimo Rooky hasta el mas alto directivo de las agencias.

There's a difference though with BTS the Rapper's were part of the underground Hip Hop scene, 2 of them as Rapper's the other as a street dancer. They are real Rappers unlike Kpop Rappers who are forced to rap because they are not considered good enough Vocalists. They'd not be able to go up against real Rappers like RM and Suga who were brought up Battle Rapping making up their lyrc's as they Rapped.

If you’re going to analyze vocals, I suggest you react to live performances. BTS are live vocal kings and it will become undeniable who is the best in the world. I’m a 52 yo army who didn’t listen to music at all until my daughter got me into BTS. I was over the disgusting lyrics and subpar vocals in western music.

Great reaction! One thing is that what BTS does is very unique to themselves! Their style, concept, themes, and arrangement in songs are very them. Basically, K-pop is not a genre but more of an industry just like Hollywood. But BTS has definitely transcended this and can do any genre! Even you can checkout their solo stuff cause the range is amazing as they all are so versatile. I would say there's no comparison between them and other K-pop artists no offense to them but BTS are miles ahead

Please analyse and react to AKMUs music as well. AKMU is a sibling duo. The brother is Lee Chanhyuk and he writes and produces all their music. The sister is Lee suhyun and she has such a perfect voice. I love their music and their voices. I would love to see your reaction and analysis on them.
