Peterbilt 310 Heil Formula 5000 (NASA Services)

The City of Los Angeles contracts out apartment recycling to several private haulers around the city. One of the few is Nasa, seen here. In this video is one of their primary trucks for apartment recycling, one of their many older Heil Formula 5000s mounted on slant-back Peterbilt 320s.

thelyokofannumber1 surprised me how not contaminated the recycling. I wouldn't be surprised if property owners told tenants to put trash in these cans so their actual garbage bill would be lower, since a smaller dumpster could be used. Thanks!

Great vid Tony! Really love this truck! I'm a huge fan of Heil Formula 5000! Really like the whine of the hydraulic pump on this one! Lots of great packer shots too! Thanks for posting! BTW, how there are only collection shots instead of driving shots as well? Does it take a long time for the guys or you just don't want to put them in? Just curious. I'd love to hear this Pete 310 driving!

Sweet catch! Wonder how many of these NASA actually has What do the Rehrigs say? I thought those were NASA's for the longest time, then I saw that the other apartment recyclers have the same kind too lol NASA's really good about keeping their 310s in excellent shape. What chassis and body is Full Circle's truck on? Can't recall any of their trucks or paint scheme haha Awesome catch!

the Rehrigs say "City of Los Angeles Multifamily Recycling Program" above the circle, and then "City of Los Angeles Recycles Together." They're city-owned carts, and actually have the exact same lids as normal residential recycling. FC has McNeiluses on Internationals; white body with light green cab.

What's the breakdown of the Nasa RL's? In other words, what is each number and kind of rear loader truck that Nasa runs?

can't confirm 100% but I believe this is the rundown: R1-R7 are all Peterbilt/Heil Formula 5000s, R1 and R4 being 1984 310s and the rest being 1987 320s R8 and R9 are Volvo Xpeditor/EZ Pack Goliaths they also have an ex-City of Albuquerque Autocar WXLL New Way King Cobra which I would guess is R10
