You have to get all your air leaks repaired for sure and get all the water out of the fuel tanks and prevent any water from getting into your fuel tanks and yes sir a fuel gauge working would be nice. I know it will probably take some time and cost a lot of money to fix and repair. From everything else you’ve shared, I would say those u joints have been in poor shape for a while, but that leveling valve hopefully is your source of noise and vibration. Being out of adjustment even a 1/2 inch can cause similar issues, never mind being completely disconnected! For what it’s worth, at least that trans doesn’t have 2.2 million miles on it.. with the dash tag not matching the trans, that 13 spd was probably put in there at some point after the 15 gave it up.
@andhotrodshop5 ай бұрын

I didn't read all your comments but here it go's.. Your visor should have "well nuts" that hold it onto the cab in the front. What holds the visor on the side by the doors are rivet nuts.. I would say the visor that you have is perfectly fine, you just need to get some well nuts. Just google "well nut 1/4 x 20" and rivet nuts 1/4 x 20.. Put a bolt in your leveling valve on your rearend and it will fix a lot. I would say with 8 hours of getting this truck home did the damage to your U-Joints. I personally would take the whole drive line (including the short shaft) to a drive line shop and have them check out all your yokes and put all new U-Joints in and balance the drive line. I would drain the transmission before pulling it to see what condition the oil is in. But if you are wanting to pull the trans then I would put in a new clutch, fly wheel and a new rear main seal while you have the trans out. Also have your input shaft checked out. As far as your fuel tank problem, I would first pull your vent tubes off to make sure they are not clogged up with dirt from a bee's nest, then if that don't level your fuel out then check the vents themself, then if that checks out okay then there is a high pressure fuel valve located on the frame cross member under the back of the cab (most of time). EDITED, After watching your video again I noticed when you was examining the U-Joints that you didn't have a return line (or draw line) to your driver side fuel tank on the bottom of the tank.. Hope this helps

@@rshotrod1965 the visor is actually cracked and split from not being secured down. I would definitely say the vibration caused by the level valve putting pressure on the driveline caused the u joints to loosen. Definitely replace the caps for sure, whole u joint if any wear. If your fuel tanks are pulling uneven clean the vents or replace them on the top of the tank

Well driveline issue could cause the vibration to heat up carrier and transmission bearings as well as test your caps and crosses yes but in three hours doubt it just started anything those caps spinning usually means the crosses have roller flat spots from many miles and not enough lubrication or too much blowing seals out and running dry then the straps and yokes can't hold them tight hopefully new u joints and straps not the yokes too fix ya right up you can take punch and peen the yoke to tighten it up if it's not real tight with new straps torqued on good luck maker great again
