Docudrama Movie about the life of Teens growing up in Pyongyang, North Korea.
The movie tells the story of an 18-year-old girl, Lee Jeong-ah, who takes care of her three orphaned siblings. Eunjeong's aunt was taking care of the children left behind after her younger brother passed away, but she was having a hard time because she was far from home. Eun-seok, the eldest of the siblings, is serving in the military but is unaware of the news of his mother's death. Following Chairman Kim Jong-un's words, Ri Jeong-ah remembers Eun-seok serving on the front lines and decides to become a mother to the siblings she left behind. Eun-jeong is not happy with Lee Jeong-ah. However, thanks to Jeong-ah's efforts, Eun-jeong gradually opens her heart. In this process, various characters, including Jeong-ah's friend Seung-hee, the carpenter, and the neighbors, work hard for the siblings. Lee Jeong-ah's efforts become known nationwide. Lee Jeong-ah's story was selected as a presentation example at the National Youth Pioneer Competition and was praised.
At the end of the movie, it has a happy ending, with Lee Jeong-ah earning the title ‘Daughter of the Labor Party and Virgin Mother.’ ‘The Story of Our Home’ is based on the true story of Jang Jeong-hwa, who raised seven orphans at the age of 18 and is called a ‘virgin mother.’ Jang Jeong-hwa's story first became known through an article in the Rodong Sinmun on May 15, 2015. In 2016, he was introduced as a ‘pioneering savior’ at the 7th National Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea and became a new hero in the Kim Jong-un regime. 2016, when the film was produced, was a historic year in which the 7th Party Congress was held in North Korea 36 years after the 6th Party Congress in 1980. Therefore, developments and scenes that emphasize the policies of the Kim Jong-un regime appear here and there in the movie.
