Played #2 last year, had Will as my caddie. Par on 3, missed birdies on 4-5-7-9. Then the back nine did me dirty with the runoffs. Shot 81, and had a blast. Parred 18 with a large crowd watching. Great memories at 13:30 I had the same putt Pete. My caddie told me to aim at the shadow of the flag. The putt lipped the top edge.

These videos are class. Really enjoy getting snippets of local lore too; the stuff about Donald Ross sipping cocktails while eagle-eying the green by his house and zipping out to change hole positions in case he witnessed too many birdies. Such tales bring a course to life. Golf seems to have an abundance of such local lore and Pete presents it in such a casual land langurous way. Ace.

I last played Pinehurst No. 2 in 2014, a few months before the U.S. Open. I was a 7-handicapper at the time. I didn't even play from the U.S. Open tees; I played from the blue tees and shot 88. No. 2 is a beast.

Just imagine playing it in actual US Open conditions....from everything I'm seeing from guys this week, those greens are like glass right now. And while this particular course doesn't really have "rough", most other courses that do also get an extra inch or two rough height for their big tournaments. It's crazy how hard you can make a course from speed of greens, pin placements, rough height, etc.
