What a time you guys had. That tow truck drive had me on the edge! He got so close to the rock wall a time or 2.. I'm sure for you it was even worse!! I've heard of onion in your socks for a cough but never heard ofred onion for inflammation! Hope you're able to get some crutches so you can get out and move around. Thanks for sharing your journey!

It was a close call. Kathy is making progress. We did find a pair of crutches. It's so interesting how different it is to locate something like crutches down here. It took me all day walking around the city to find them.

We knew that doing a massive trip would come with many challenges. They can get frustrating and even scary at times, but we have to remind ourselves that this is the adventure, and overcoming these is the cost of all the amazing things along the way. Just answering you comments in the last chapter, what we are looking for the ankle cannot be found in a pharmacy, but in an ortopedia ( a sort of specialized shop in wheelchairs, clinic beds, special mattress, etc. ) . Probably it is too late, but what we can find at a pharmacy is a venda aka vendaje .

I love American discovering the rest of the world is full of normal good happy people willing to help specially down the border. Even dont speaking the language they try to make it easy even with some fun, like anywhere for sure there is few bad ones, but for sure good people are far more. Enjoy guys. Hello again. Not sure but the problems with the fuel pump might be due to the tank is not full ? as the fuel pump is submerged into the tank , those vans are not much switable for Peru's andes road. Just take into consideration that filling up your tank with fuel will maintain the pump fully under the fuel's level and maintain it cooler . I hope this could help in the future.

We have a scanner, but it only gives us really basic info. We used it here, and it didn't show any codes. MB has most of the info locked down and is only accessible with their official diagnostic tool. I'm glad you liked the footage. Peru is so dramatic, and the drone shows this like no other. Watching the rig being transported on that tilt tray was nerve wracking. Do you have an OBD (code) reader with you ? May want to get one 👍

We do have an OBD. The van never threw a code or checked the check engine light. But MB has most of the codes locked up without the official MB scanner. It will only give us very general info. This can be helpful sometimes, but I wish it was more open to tell us more. But it didn't help much this time. Thanks for watching!

Yes, We are traveling with a few spare fuel and oil filters. We can find them in major cities, but they are still much cheaper to get in the USA. So we bring some spares.

Hello, These are 3L diesel Sprinters. Don't worry; your van will do great. Just get fuel from the primary fuel stations, and you will be fine. One van had issues, but the other ran great. It turned out it was contaminated fuel, and once it was replaced, it ran great, too.

I use the 2022 Foxwell NT710 with MB Software. It let me check, reset, service I would say almost every module of my 2023 Sprintervan. In fact I got it from the US.

Something i havent seen anyone talk about (and i follow quite a few travellers) are the costs associated with this lifestyle. For a newbie who wants to get into the life, what are the needs and costs? Im talking the stuff you dont think about. Laptop, software, do you need a license for the music? Go pro camera's, drone, satellite phone or cb radio (i want to do the dempster and daulton hwys) starlink or another non-fascist loving satellite internet service. Jerry cans for extra gas, def if your vehicle is a diesel. What am i missjng?
