I never know when to double with the robots, because If i double for penalty the robots always take me out

Board 2 the robots only raise you to 6C if you bid 5C directly over 4S. That promises 19-20 total points so 6C makes sense. I bid 5C over the second double and played it there. 5C still goes down 1 because you suffer a heart ruff, but it's a nice 93%. Board 3 I got put into 4H after a 3H jump, but W switched to spades instead of continuing hearts after I ducked a club, so I ruffed the third round of clubs and got away with down 1 to match your score. Fun set of boards this week!

I did bid 4NT on board 2, they passed. But low spade lead, won singleton king, and get all 13 in NT, lucky!

Interesting decision on board 8. I faced exactly the same choice and decided to pass rather than double 4H. I realised they were unlikely to make it, but I didn’t see a certain set and also wasn’t sure 3S was even making - so maybe just going plus would score well. And indeed it turned out that 1 off undoubled was 92.9%. This puts the double into an interesting light. Even though it is technically correct, it has, as it turns out, relatively little to gain but a lot to potentially lose. So maybe on those grounds it’s not correct after all? Something similar maybe applies to the play of the hand on board 4. You took a calculated risk going for the third overtrick, but the number of MP you gained as a result was a lot less than the amount you might have lost had the clubs broke badly. I really don’t know how one is meant to weigh up these odds, depending as they do on the results at all the other tables.

Those kind of odds I try and calculate when I know something good or bad about the board already. Both of those boards I wasn't expecting a good result for 4H undoubled or 3C without all the over tricks. It seemed rather normal till then so I thought going for it seemed worth it.

@@BridgeWithPete i played board 8 in 3s going 2 off. Thought I'd blown a decent score but got 61% for an overall 69%. Some times it doesn't make sense but it offsets the times the robots do things like that.

I got a 100 with 4H -2. I think the double was good Pete, just horrible robot bidding ruined it.

1/2/7 push 3. I made 3H because W inexplicably didn't play a second trump after I ducked a club. 4. I inexplicably let the opps play 2S. This was dumb with me having Axxx in their suit. 5. Didn't find game (X...2S instead of X...X) 6. I made the same mistake you did on the clubs and didn't get away with it like you did (bot randomness?). 8. I didn't set 4H because my bot partner led a spade at trick 3 instead of a minor.

1. As usual, I forgot the Takeout Double bid and defended against 3S. 2. Push 3. Played at 2H, contract making. 4. 3C-3, totally misplayed the hearts and the ruffing. 5. Opened and played at 1NT. 6. Played at 1NT, but only got one overtrick 7. Push 8. Played at 3S, went down only 2.
