Ron, thanks for your incredible dedication to our local history, and your artistic creations bringing them back to life. Thirty years ago you graciously opened up your home to my two little boys because they were fascinated by the caboose in your yard. Both of them have grown up to operate locomotives today, one for CSX and the other for Amtrak.

Ron, all I can say is you have done a spectacular job on your model railroad. I love the fact that you have brought history together with your layout. You knowledge of the specific buildings and their history astounds me. You are to be commended for bringing history alive with your model railroad. Congratulations! This has to be one of the most superior model railroads I have visited on the internet. ...Joel Eikomstead, Fargo, North Dakota. I am a PRR and East Coast Railroad fan. That may be because I was raised outside of Philadelphia in my youth.

I grew up in Allentown in the 1960's. Many of your vista elements are familiar. My dad took me to the Lehigh River in Reading to fish when I was 8 years old in 1958. Life was certainly less hectic then.

Magnificent beautiful handiwork. Father’s family from Bethlehem and Jim Thorpe, shocking reproduction of towns and station well done. His family worked New Jersey Central at Jim Thorpe (Mauch Chunk). Is Joseph T. Leonardis Undertaking Establishment depicted at 38 Broadway there. When I toured it in 1999 it still used a black 1940’s Packard hearse.

Fantastic oral history coupled with the depictions and running trains. Thanks for letting us see it. In 1972 to 1974 when I was a student at Lafayette I lived on Wolf Avenue in Easton. A long hill ran down from the building I was in, down to a river with a number of tracks parallel to the river. Is that section shown on your model? I have a few pictures somewhere.

Are there different kinds of O scale track styles? This track doesn't have the middle rail. This track looks more realistic. From what I can tell the engine trucks look more natural.

To the best of my knowledge Ron opens the layout to the Lehigh Valley Chapter NRHS members once a year but it isn't open to the general public. If you're in the greater Lehigh Valley you might consider joining the chapter. The open house is in the summer I believe.
