Great video, Pete, with many historic photos. I ran many a train past Ron's back yard and I had no idea how many railroad structures were on the property.

Hi, I just wanted to let you know that the Phillipsburg Railroad Historians E-Mail account seems to have been hacked. I got an E-Mail from them this morning claiming to be a german bank asking for my contact details. If you could let them know they need to change their password that would be great, unfortunately I can´t find any working contact information for them.

@@RonaldLuckock hey Ron, not sure if you remember me, I sold you the mth premier 2 rail Lehigh valley heritage diesel, me and a buddy came to your house for the sale and you gave us a private tour of the lay out. I was really hoping you’d sell me the Jim Thorpe station but finding out they have been donated to stockertown model rr club maybe I will try to reach out to them and see if they would sell

I have seen this before I’ve ever seen it on KZbin. I was just a young boy around 8 or 9 when walking through a local historic town that Jerry owned a shop in. He had a cool model train in the window which drew my attention as I loved trains. I begged my dad to step inside and me and Jerry had a very interesting conversation and ended with him giving me this on DVD! It was great being able to meet him! Great guy as well as Mike although never met Mike my grandfather used to know him as a kid and I’ve heard some good stories! Also love all the old films he’s narrated!

I could listen to these two gentlemen for hours. By the sounds of it there are so many parallels between railroad work and what I do as a long haul trucker of just over 30 years.

Hi Ron. Just a small correction. When you speak of the railroad on the eastern shore of the Delaware at the Gap it is the NYS&W. The NYS&W reached Stroudsburg via this route in 1880. 14 years later the WB&E was constructed by the NYS&W westward from Stroudsburg.

My father Joe Mickel worked at Dixie from 1956 to 1968. He's 96 years old as of this writing. When I was around the age of 5 he took me to the plant one evening, and I got to see the cup from the rooftop at night. Then I got yelled at by some lady who didn't see my dad at first. Some things you never forget.

Great video!! Brings back lots of memories. Born in 1942 I remember crossing the walking suspension Sunday mornings with my Dad to visit my aunt & uncle in south side. We would drive to the toll booth in Wilson Borough and walk across to the south side. Also played on the bridge as a child although told not to by our parents. Was a great time to be alive back then. Life was good. Thanks for the memories!

Of the thousands of rail videos I've watched on KZbin over the years I keep coming back to this one and the other Bel-Del video on your channel. The scenes are beautifully shot and the music sets the mood perfectly. Quite different from most rail videos. Wish there was more like this out there. Love your channel, always great content.

Dear Ron, I discovered your series of KZbin videos on the PeterinPA channel. I have been watching Parts 1-10... I grew up in Coplay and developed an interest in local history and railroads as a teen. I just want to tell you how much I have enjoyed your systematic video chronicles! Also thank you for serving our nation in combat. I served in Iraq and Afghanistan and some of our biggest supporters with care packages were the Vietnam veterans. I believe one of the reasons we are enamored with our local history and railroads is that it's easy to admire the generation of builders these folks were. Bridges, railroads, industries. Ron, like that generation it is clear to me that you are a Builder, in that same spirit. Learning about the past is important, because it is important to be grateful and humble. We are blessed, because others worked and sacrificed. I am a signal maintainer currently working for the NYS&W. I also spent time with the Reading and Northern, as well as CSX. Thanks again and I hope to cross paths with you.

Im creating a fantasy story with a royal hudson as the center stage and I would like to use "Atlantic Central" for the fictional railway it operates on and as a reference to this amazing group of locomotive restorers.

My grandfather, when only in his mid 20s (with 2 young kids to raise & support) was crushed at work when it fell on him, crushed his skull-- back in mid 1920s, RR gave his widow pension of $7 a month. Dangerous job!

Take it from a retired railroad career man: The wheel sets of the caboose are identified as "trucks", not "bogies". Besides the spelling for bogies is not boogies (the latter is something you pick out your nose.
