Thank you for the transparency brutha. As a smaller creator I feel I’m punching up and fighting for budgets to produce better content. Most of my sponsored videos I’m barely making money on after investing into the video. But I’ve gotten a couple larger one off sponsors that have helped the overall year. Hopefully budget will increase overall tho, otherwise the quality I’m pursuing won’t be sustainable. So transparency like this helps other creators know where to position and value themselves at.

As an up and coming tech KZbinr(not this channel) it’s nice to hear about the business side. A lot of people don’t talk about it. I guess one question I’d ask is, how/when should you go about reaching out to brands. What kind of metrics should you show? How much should you charge? Should you take free products from brands you want to work with in order to build a relationship with them?
@PeterLindgren16 ай бұрын
If you make good enough content, the brands will reach out to you.

I’m a smaller of small creators here on this platform and just started to get brand deals which I’m grateful for. I love making videos on this platform it has actually taught me a handful of things. My buddy sent me this video and I’m glad he did. Keep doing what you love doing! Thank you for this.

Hey Peter, great breakdown, it is all about creating value, as a person or as a company. the more value you create the more you gain. we measure everyone and everything with Value ( Value = Worth) you have created so much value for you and your company. Now companies see your value and reach out to you. while enjoying what you do. you are winning mate. cheers

Hey Peter, this is an awesome breakdown and something I think a lot of newer creators need to hear. Everyone think you get monetized and start making 6 figures from ad revenue which just isn't the case. Its all about the relationships you build with sponsors and brands, and developing your own products. Its a long hard road but the emotional reward of building something yourself is incredible

I really really appreciate how freely you are talking to us especially about your income that most people consider it as a private data not for share. I really always watch your useful videos, but I haven't gotten any better coz I'm lazy. BUT, this video hits me a way different. Thanks a lot for your effort.

I remember finding your video years back in your earlier days. I think I was now thinking of getting a camera to practice filmmaking. I don't even remember what the video was that I clicked on lol but I subscribed because you always seemed so genuine. To this day you're still the same and I'm really happy your business grew so to where it is now. Keep doing great things. I only hope to reach your level one day. I started my KZbin channel months ago, not this one, and I got monetized in February. Hoping my future on KZbin is good to me🤞🏽

Hey Peter! I'm lucky that on my job I can keep things fresh. It's 3 years since everything took off and i could live well of my earnings. I am am making videos and I do everything myself, similar to the ones you would do, yesterday it was a documentary on local wine producers, today it was this new foiling boat, next week 3 concerts, in a months we'll start filming a series on classic cars. I feel blessed that I'm not locked into a single niece. If you ever come again to north Italy we can have a go together at filming some racing sailboats.

The Business side of things is inspiring and informative so videos about this topic are interesting! Due to ze German law weirdness it’s not possible to have affiliate links as a private person so I’m at the crossroads to set up a company or ditch the links and so on and so forth. I bought the tri-charge and made a review of it but it wasn’t good enough quality (my review, the tri-charge is excellent quality!) but I have a couple of wishes for the v2 like a little latch so that the battieries wont fly out with a gentle tap. I could almost say that I’m the first person who has used an electric locomotive to run the tri-charge 😂

Yeah ad revenue on YT is only a nice-to-have anymore for very most creators. Times have changed! Content overload is happening everywhere and big reach has become harder to sustain than ever. So ad revenue is pretty nice but if one runs YT for business you need other income streams aswell. Branded content. Brand partnerships. second customer per video which should be a local business that pays you for the production. I also think merch isn’t the way. And real events with ticket sales are also a huge opportunity. Think about your own music festival, Peter!
