Everything was Gorgeous about her! Her body, her face, her singing! And she could tap dance like Ginger Rogers too! Such talent. Her all girl band could outswing most male dancebands too. What a showcase for the great Ina Ray, as well as whatever fashion house attired those langorous ladies.

It's me again . Just noticed that Ina Ray was a preview of what was to come. At the beginning of the film Ina's wearing white and then the outfit changes to peekabo black lace. This was the 30s and you should see what some female classical pianists are wearing to day mini midriff outfits, low cut dresses with thigh high slit dresses. Wow!. Ina and her dresser were way ahead of their times and the music is still great!!

I wonder why so many people felt Brits and women couldn't play jazz? If you heard this on the radio no intro one would not guess it was an all girl band as they took your breath away. Talented and beautiful! I wish I could remember her name but there was a wall known and much admired by both men and women who could have given Krupa a run for his money. She was still capable of astounding well into her senior years. Could she have been part of Ina Ray's band? Music is music, talent is talent if a woman could play classical in orchestra why not classical jazz in a jazz band. Thank you a

so talented, beautiful and ahead of her time. Born Odessa Cowan, Ina Ray Hutton was born in Chicago in a family registered as 'negro' and 'mulatto'. The only way she could have a career at that time was to pass as white.
