A magical place to experience- I would with my mother in the 60s as a child we'd see a movie and a stage show - it was magical- later in the 80s I became a " Tour Guide " an amazing experience and memory for me

I visited that theater twice to see the Radio City Christmas Spectacular. I first heard about it when I was watching Barney Live In New York City. The curtain on the Great Stage looks astounding. It’s one of my favorite theaters in the world.

I enjoyed my first visit to the music hall on a 6th grade class trip to see Bedknobs & Broomsticks along with the Christmas show in 1971. Next was The Sunshine Boys in 1975. In the 80's it was the Houston Grand Opera's production of Porgy & Bess and a screening of Abel Gance's Napoleon with live orchestra; and finally, the 1990 revival of The Glory of Easter (an orgy of Erte with some Minnelli thrown in). Good to know the place is still goin'.

This was quite an enjoyable presentation. I wish the resolution were better but I think it was a camcorder recording off a TV screen. Still it was a worthwhile viewing. Shame on the producers, though, for never once mentioning the amazing Mighty Wurlitzer pipe organ which is still in the theater and fully playable. It was played for every show for 80 years and is still played for the special events, like the Christmas shows. It is the largest pipe organ ever built by Wurlitzer. It has two consoles with 4 manuals each and boasts over 4,000 pipes, some of which are a city block apart. Over 50 years ago, I had the pleasure of hearing the organ in a private concert for the NY Theater Organ Society. When I was 11 years old, I watched "Babes in Toyland" at RCMH while sitting (terrified of heights) in the top mezzanine. In 1968 as a high school junior I saw "The Odd Couple" at RCMH during it's premier run before it was released to smaller theaters (I had somewhat overcome my fear of the mezzanine.) In the 1990s I bought tickets to see Frank Sinatra at RCMH and he shared the stage that night with SHirley Maclaine. I am really glad I was able to see him in person. That same morning I took the tour of RCMH which was given by a Rockette (in her leggy costume). I found out that, by that time, movies had long since stopped being shown there and they did not even have the projection equipment with the technical specifications to show movies even if they wanted to.

Imagine if Digimon: The Movie made its New York City premiere at Radio City Music Hall before premiering at the Roxy Theatre, the Hippodrome, and the New Amsterdam Theatre. That could've been fun.

When it opened , smoking would have been allowed in the Thatre. That 2nd hand smoke buildsu up over the years, turning the brightest colors into drudge.
