@craigmason8422 Жыл бұрын
I think Peter is an incredible conversationalist, and I thoroughly enjoy the way he handles interviews, I just wish you were a little more aggressive in the interview of her use of the word trafficked. I have been involved with charities that internationally try to help trafficked women, and this is not a "trafficked" woman. Trafficked women don't get to "break up" with their traffickers, trafficked women never see their "P***y" as powerful, trafficked women don't get to go "renegade" when they feel like it, they are mostly poor, stolen women, from poorer countries, who, due to the fact they are most likely here illegally, are scared to go to authorities. I tell it like I think it is, this woman has no right to call herself trafficked imo, and if you listen to her closely, she gave Peter, many times, in her own words, where she tells you she was not the definition of trafficked. When I see her actions, and what she said, I think she is self-describing herself as trafficked for better marketability, and I believe what she did, to label herself as trafficked, is an insult to the real world of trafficked women.

Yes…I watched to the end….and to the person who said “she choose this life” …….well yes she DID choose that life…just like every addict. You choose food…drugs…sex…etc. whatever your addiction is…cigarettes! So when you are addicted you CHOOSE your addiction. Most of us are different with OUR choices….we choose things for different reasons. Addiction brings a person down to the depths of despair. When a woman is abused in her childhood/teen physically or sexually or both they most of the time never come out of it on the other side as a normal functioning person. They will many times not feel worthy as a person so they turn to men to try to satisfy them because that’s all they think they are good for….it becomes an addiction of a complete mental illness. Think about it….so sad.

This documentary is living proof for people who don’t understand why having functional families and having good, understanding parents as role models are so important for society. The likelihood of women being manipulated and abused by these traffickers increases exponentially if they come from households where abuse is common because for them, this is natural.

As my Pastor once said, “The family unit is the bedrock of civilization itself.” Mess it up and you mess up society at large. I watched a Netflix documentary a few months back on prison inmate interviews. Without exception, every inmate said he was abused as a child.
@rosiekapun207 Жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, how functional a family is depends on their culture as well. Many cultures have traditionally been patriarchal with outdated ideals in which women were not considered equals. So, parents repeat these values and girls grow up to believe it. It's a very complex issue but moving towards a more feminist society is probably the best remedy for centuries of mistreatment against women.
@pyrovania Жыл бұрын
In some cases, young people are trafficked by their own relatives.
@bliss4383 Жыл бұрын
@@rosiekapun207 The most important job in the world is that of a mother. I think it’s in Sweden that women are given a 5-year maternity leave. I’m certain that’s because these are the most crucial years in childhood development. If a child is not nurtured (loved, mirrored, cuddled, cooed at, picked up, gets food and diaper changes when needed, etc.), the baby will suffer from neglect and abuse that results in at least one Personality Disorder. The mother will transfer Oxytocin, the Bonding Hormone, during her pregnancy and it’s critical that ties continued after that, in those crucial years. And if that doesn’t happen, you get a Donald Trump….although he also has Psychopathy, a genetic mutation, passed down from his father. His mother was dealing with a difficult and bleeding pregnancy with her next child, Robert, when Trump was 2 years old. Thus, in comorbidity with the inherited Psychopathy, he developed Cluster A Paranoid Personality Disorder and Cluster B Narcissistic Personality Disorder. In China there used to be a One Child Rule, due to overpopulation. In that culture, sons are expected to care for their parents in ther elderly years. As such, if they had a female child, she was either aborted or put in an orphanage, where she and all the other female babies didn’t get the Nurturing every child needs and deserves. In Christianity, God sees men and women as co-equals - joint heirs to the throne, but it’s evident they have differing roles. There will be trouble if the husband does not submit his life to Christ, but if he does, his wife will be more that happy to follow her husband, as the leader of the family. Jesus was a Servant Leader who led by love. Thus, a husband is to server his wife, and she is to serve her husband. Feminism is simply a rebellion against men who do not lead and love women as Jesus did. Women had numerous prominent roles in the Bible. One excellent book and it’s follow-up, was 12 Extraordinary Women, followed by 12 Ordinary Men….written by my well-known and much loved Pastor, John MacArthur. His large church is truly bustling with happy, well-adjusted families. But the world wants to tear the family apart, and a man want to be in control, because they reject this God of Love, Compassion, Service, Healing, as a Wonderful Counselor and Peace of Peace. He suffered brutally and died for teaching such things, and at a time when women were still nothing more than chattel. He taught men how to love women, not abuse them. And he said, while surrounded by children, “If anyone harms one of these little ones, it is better that a millstone be hung around his neck and he be drowned in the bottom of the sea.” That’s Capital Punishment, so you can see how deadly serous he took child abuse. By contrast, in cultures like Afghanistan, and Thailand, Pedophilia is the norm. Try catching up with Diane Langberg, Ph.D., a Psychologist and Pastor’s wife who’s a 50-year veteran Trauma Counselor, has a private practice in Philadelphia, and has done her work on 6 continents. But make no mistake, her focus has always been first and foremost to take on victims who have been abuse by their so-called” Christian husbands. Jesus and the Apostle Paul both warned of false converts, and repeatedly did so. But if men truly humble themselves, bowing their knee to Christ, learning his ways, that’s where the wonderful and healthy marriages and families begin.

When I was in the Navy stationed in San Diego CA. I knew a girl who was a victim of trafficking. Her street name was Candy. I had to go out to Sea for a month doing coastal patrols and when I got back I went to the Dennys we'd meet at and I was sitting there for a long time. A young lady approached and asked me my name and I told her. She said she was Candy's real sister and that Candy was killed while I was out to sea. They’re talking about Florida you call the FBI you don’t call the local PD they don’t give two fucks because one of these guys leave their jurisdiction there’s nothing they can do she should’ve informed, she could’ve save someone’s life and she should’ve had them removed from the restaurant. I mean these guys play tough but they’re only tough to their own stable to their own hoes. When push comes to shove they’re not gonna do shit against a civilian I mean, what are they gonna do seriously people teach your kids and teach them right you don’t need to back down to anybody.

Note to people who are confused about her seeming to glamorize her past: darkness can still be exhilirating, and you can “reminisce” about those times of darkness even if you know they were bad for you. I reminisce about days of former drug and alchohol abuse even though that was a dark time in my life. I was miserable at that time but I still found points of happiness and joy in that painful downward spiral. Non-addicts and people who have never experienced the dark side of themselves might never understand this. I don’t want to go back to those days, but there were still good moments that i miss. yeah me too. i wouldn’t even say it’s a coping mechanism. i’m years & years past that life (using substances like the original commenter, not pr0sttn) i think the reality is, if something sucked 24/7, 100% of the time, nobody would ever get addicted to it. whether it’s money, drugs, or just a certain lifestyle. there has to be some yin to balance the yang or it wouldn’t be alluring in the first place. once you realize the road leads to darkness, you (hopefully) heal.. but that doesn’t take away from the initial exhilaration and love affair.

I think it's important to not hide that part. When a young person is warned about harmful lifestyles and they're painted only in an ugly light, if they go out and realize the allure/temptation behind it, they're bound to think their guardians lied to them and do it anyway, only to realize the truth too late. But if we're honest in how alluring and even "fun" a destructive lifestyle can be, but put the weight on the depressing consequences and what those lifestyles are ACTUALLY doing to you, I think maybe you're giving them a fuller picture of what to look out for. Just my opinion though

Good thing she's a strong person doing good things in the world that mean a lot more than being a willfully dense asshole on the internet trying to tear people down. It's not even reasonable to assume she's glamorizing her past. She would still be living that life instead of actively combating it if that were the case. Some people want to be blind. They don't want to see the rough parts of humanity. It's easier for them to dismiss it and be ignorant.

I moved to Las Vegas, got a nice apartment and a pimp lived upstairs (no women lived there but his sister)....nice guy, friendly/chatty/ very young (drove a PT Cruiser with a RR grill).....fast forward 15 years and he's standing before a judge explaining why his ho died, "she didn't make enough that night, he beat her and tied her up with a electrical cord, she was crying out for water, bound in the bath tub...next morning she was dead".....he explained to the judge "that she was his property and he meant well"......Judge gave him life without parole...he could not believe it!......he thought his daddy taught him well (he was a pimp also)....he thought everything was normal.......btw, I know Annie, she is the real deal....saw her on the street pleading with a ultra burnt out prostitute that was well into her 50's!

They arent the best actors. Its just many of the people they deal with, are naive and desperate for love, for discreet "relationships" etc, so they are easily fooled. But they all are the same, got the same bullshit lines and are very see-through. They prey on the weak, so of course they can easily fool them.
