I sure wish my farriers would take off the chestnuts and ergots. Most horse owners don't have good enough instruments to do that themselves! As usual, beautiful work. :)

😊 I watch the horses that guard the Queen and King. The guards sit on the horses and people do everything to pet the horse. My question is, Why do these houses bite some of them bite everyone babies and all. Why ? Can you help me out on this please??? I didn't know they would bite. They are only standing in the box for an hour at a time. But the people just pack into that horses space. 😢

Hello and thank you for sharing your knowledge. I learn from every video of your's I watch. With your help I've been doing my rescue standardbreds feet for a little over a year. In a future video; would you be able to talk about your tools especially hoof knives and rasps? Im looking for information on hoof knives.....care, do you sharpen them and what information you could share about rasps. I found a great rasp and would like to find a great hoof knife or several of them.

So I watch a few of these hoof trimming channels. Both horses and cows. I can’t help but wonder what each of the trimmers think about the others. I know in every profession everyone has their own style of doing things and there’s a fair bit of shade thrown around. But in the end the only people who can criticize are those who work in the field.

The chestnut, also known as a night eye,[1] is a callosity on the body of a horse or other equine, found on the inner side of the leg above the knee on the foreleg and, if present, below the hock on the hind leg.
