Totally amazing. Your playing on that 7 string really creates a full sound for a duo. And of course McKenna is amazing.

This is so tasty. I'm ultra-partial to guitar and tenor duos. George Van Eps is smiling, friend. :)
@PeteSmyser7 жыл бұрын
Thanks for posting the comment! I agree, there's something special about the way that the tenor sax and guitar blend and compliment one another in a duo setting (recordings by Joe Pass & Zoot Sims or Bucky Pizzarelli with Zoot Sims come to mind).

@@PeteSmyser I was just browsing KZbin after reading your comment and found a gem: Zoot Sims, Oscar Peterson, Joe Pass, Grady Tate playing "I Got Rhythm" on KZbin. Amazing, you would love it!

I made a comment before but I have to tell you that larry plays great but you sir are a great talent too, you reminded me of a man who introduced me to big band jazz when I was just a kid he played with woddy Hearman in the 40's his name was Bob Makatta he always told me when backing a soloist let him shine.then when you play people will take notice.you sir play great werther backing or solo.It has been my pleasure.

Thank you Harvey. Yes, when accompanying someone as gifted as Larry McKenna, I certainly don't want to get in his way. By the way, I'm currently editing some new videos that will be added to my KZbin Channel sometime in the not-too-distant future. Two of the songs feature Larry McKenna! Please keep a look out for those, or better yet, subscribe to my channel (if you haven't already done so). Cheers!
