Love this!!! Hey, what about how this intersects with essences? I beg of you to please do a video of flamboyant gamines & different essences and how that can change some recommendations. 🙏 😊
@ourcozycorner85173 ай бұрын
Lol for context, def a flamgam here, but a lot of those “short hair, boyish chic” & super textbook Kibbe recommendations do not look quite right for me…it has taken a bit of trial & error. But I think something about my essence blend and the “flavor” of flamgam I am change how some of those recommendations read.

@@ourcozycorner8517yessss trust me this was me! The short hair looks and the boyish vibes did not work for me. I’ll be doing a lot of videos on each essence and then yes I’ll be doing LOTS of videos on all the essence mixes with the body types 😎 stay tuned!

@@myleneamelie yay!! Super excited! I’m very curious what you think about this & especially flamboyant gamines considering by the very nature of being a flamgam it means there is going to be a *lot* more variation within the category as compared to others like classics or naturals or dramatics since those are pretty well defined but gamines are such little Picasso paintings so recommendations are going to be trickier & more specific to the individual or maybe by essence. Whenever I tired of trying kibbe recommendations for fg I started returning to things that at least appeal to my essence blend. It isn’t totally satisfying but it works better than the reverse. 😬 especially now that I know my color palette which unsurprisingly correlated with the essences. Lol the kibbe rabbit hole. 😅
@myleneamelie3 ай бұрын
@@ourcozycorner8517 yes completely agree! The moment I stopped using Kibbe as a style and only used it as a body structure guide it changed everything for me! Essences are such fun and fluid things ☺️. My colour season also goes really well with one of my essences! Style is just so much fun! I’m glad you’re experimenting and enjoying the ride

Thank you for your video. I am pretty certain I am a FG, but my essence is ingenue, with a touch of romantic and classic. I like vintage styles (1940-1950's and early 1960's) . I wear cardigans a lot since it is the easiest way for me to color block and add interest with my skirts. At 5'3 and short torso, I tuck my cardigan in my skirt or wear them with a belt over them to make it fitted and usually over a button up collar blouse that I like to wear to completely buttoned (academia style). Thanks to your video I am considering cropped cardigans and was wondering about necklines. Would a v-neck cropped bolero cardigan be the right lines for a FG? Would it be better to do a crew neck cardigan? What necklines usually look nice? Thank you again
@myleneamelie19 күн бұрын
Hi! That’s great you found your body type and essences ☺️. Generally speaking FG looks great in sharper lines like v-necks, however they can also do crew necks and Henley style necklines, it really will depend on your specific FG type and as well as your essences (considering you have both Romantic and Ingenue essences you wouldn’t look weird with crew necklines!)

I'm a flamoyant gamine. I really liked your recomendations! I usually dressed as a dramatic classic ( I have a big boobs which I think make me seem more boxy then I am and because of that I tend to use mmore monochromatic looks), which i think we can borrow ;) But you're the best in this, great tips. Thank you!

Yes!! People assume everyone in a body type will look the same, and it's just not true, we are all uniquely beautiful and all valid in a body type :). Ah yes haha, I felt that same broadness the moment I put on SG clothes, I get it!

great video! I am really torn between flamboyant gamine or soft gamine as my body type, since my limbs are short (my arms, legs and neck) but I naturally gravitate towards most of these recommendations and lines. Can’t wait for a soft gamine video so I can be sure!
@tana38753 ай бұрын
I'm a soft gamine and I also can't wait for a soft gamine video! Honestly, a lot of the times the gamines can get away with wearing a lot of the same/similar outfits :) I'm sure she will address this but the easiest way I understood it - FGs have longer, leaner limbs, and their sharp or broad frame stands out more than their softness, more frame dominance. SGs have shorter limbs, and their curves or softness catch your eye before their angular structure does. Alyssa Rudman's shorts illustration 'SOFT GAMINE vs FLAMBOYANT GAMINE' on youtube might you see it visually!
@myleneamelie3 ай бұрын
Some lines are the same, but yes I’m sure once you see the Soft Gamine guide you’ll know for sure 😉. Some people are closer to the pure gamine body type (it’s rare) but generally speaking you’ll either lean towards more angular or more soft. But I’ve had clients who are closer to pure gamine and I’ve either placed them in FG or SG depending on the overall appearance they give. My advice would be to take videos of yourself in the FG lines versus the SG lines and you’ll be able to tell when you watch back 😊. Thanks for watching!

It’s rare BUT if the rest of the characteristics lean towards FG or if your overall appearance is very FG then yes it’s possible. Generally speaking though, Soft Gamines are the ones with shorter limbs ☺️. I’m doing a video on Soft Gamines this week, so maybe do a comparison!

Loved this presentation and visual recommendations. I am Gamine, like the OG Gamine. Not entirely Flamboyant and far from Soft Gamine. In the current Kibbe system, I would be considered more of a Flamboyant Gamine. But the Kibbe system has some flaws and is quite dated.

What would my type be if all of what you mentioned applies except I also have an hourglass shape?
@myleneamelie2 ай бұрын
Hi! It all really depends on whether you overall look more curvy or more angular. In other words, if the majority of your structure leans towards angularity then you'd follow the angular lines in the clothing suggestions (i.e. no waist emphasis needed and structured clothing). If though, your hourglass shape is very pronounced and fleshy, and it's the first thing people notice when they see you, then you focus more on waist emphasis in your outfits. This is just a general suggestion, as I can't really give you a definitive answer without analyzing you properly. Hope this helps!

I'm seeing Soft Gamine and Flamboyant Gamine videos...but I'd like to see one just for Gamine. There are many of us with a gamine body but we don't fall under soft or flamboyant body types.
@myleneamelieАй бұрын
Every gamine will either lean slightly towards one or the other, similar to the Classics family. But the clothing recommendations at this point get very specific to each Gamine, and essences play a larger role too because they don't predominantly fit into the two sides of the Gamine spectrum. I'll discuss this in a video soon!

@myleneamelie its not about beauty, its about how there is no haircut that doesnt make my face look even more disproportionately skinny from my head than it already does. And how no matter how much weight i lose i always look disproportionately wide. Which often translates to fat. I NEVER get to look feminine or sexy so i never get to figure out how to feel like i am either of those things. And as a lesbian it means i get lumped into a more masculine set of expectations because i'm never girly enough or sexy enough to be femme enough to be considered femme. I just wanna be sweet soft luscious seductive womanly. And im not. I never feel like an adult. I never feel like my mental or physical gets to mature in a sensuous way nor a female way. I am literally shorter than most children. And the HAIIIRR OMG THE FUGGINNHAIRRR What aren we supposed to do if the rules are tht our hair has to be exactly one cut and thats the only option?
