I have this water fountain and like it but it does have some issues. The carbon filter is ridiculously small with very little carbon in them, not sure they actually do much. I might try to find some other filter option that could work in this fountain because the filters are too expensive, especially if you have to replace them every two weeks. The stainless steel is very thin, I thought it was actually aluminum at first. Mine starts gurgling as if it's low on water, yet it's half full. I thought maybe the filters were clogged up but they weren't, so I'm not sure what's going on there.

My cat LOVES this fountain, he was afraid at the beginning then got used to it, its very quiet but high maintance, filters aint cheap and if you have a dusty enviroment, frequent cleaning is needed.

I found this video extremely helpful! I've been searching for a good stainless steel one for my cat and was thinking about this one. Which stainless steel option is your favorite out of all the ones you've tried? Money isn't really important for me, just healthy/safe is key.

I love the Eversweet but it’s not full stainless. If you want full stainless I recommend this one

Hoping to find a definitive answer to how to position the 2 filters. Looks like you put the spongy black ring filter around the bottom part of the pump, to cover the door. But later it looked like you were leaving it up higher. I think lower is good because that door can get really gunky if not. The carbon filter I put in flat side down, but I could be wrong. You'd think they'd show this and explain it in their instruction booklet. Nope! And I love how their instruction video shows a handy little brush for cleaning, apparently included. I didn't get one, so it's 10 or12 Q-Tips I have to fiddle with to get the gunk out of all the tiny crevices. I don't like how long it takes to clean, but I haven't tried the dishwasher. I'd think you would need to rinse carefully after the dishwasher so there's absolutely no detergent ("water spots") left. I want a happy cat, not a sick one.

I had to grab one! My cats keep screaming at me at 4 AM EVERY NIGHT for sink water. They’re addicted and it’s incredibly annoying. I will update this comment with how it’s worked, and if it can replace the sink.

Update 2 months later: they love it! I get so many questions about where I got it. I just bought replacement filters for it. It’s super easy to put together and keep clean. They love the fresh, clean circulating water.

How would you compare this one to the petlibro automatic water fountain? Which one would you say was less maintenance in terms of bacteria growth, build up, and filter replacement?

This one: less bacteria growth and more filter replacements required since it is smaller The other petlibro one: more bac growth but filter can be replace left often because it’s bigger

how can you put it in the dishwasher with plastic parts? can't the heat cause chemical leaching? they are made in china where quality standards aren't so strict. I don't want to put my cat at risk. Can the plastic bits be removed from the steel?

The only issues with this fountain are: First, like most is that you plug it in but it doesn't cool the water. SECOND, you can't see how much water is in the bowl so you have to lift the top to look. Third, if the power goes out and you arent home, the cats will not get any water. Make sure to leave another open stainless bowl filled with water just in case something happens to it( obstruction, low water, power outage) if you are gonna be away longer than one day.

The water flows into the carbon filter before it falls into the tub and then into the sponge. This design is 100% backwards. I would avoid for this reason because it means they company thinks you are an idiot, and they clearly have no clue what they are doing.
