If you liked petoskey you gotta get up to the UP of MI too see the keewanaw penninsula and lake superior its insane... Pro tip from a lifelong Michigander. Also if you liked looking for petoskey stones get to the shore of superior and look for yooperlite.

We love Petoskey! We always go to East Park when we visit. The view overlooking Lake Michigan is beautiful. I don’t see a lot of it on videos of visitors to Petoskey. Maybe because it’s more south by the Bay Harbor Community and people don’t go that way? They stick to the Bayfront Park area? Glad you guys discovered Petoskey.

Fellow Texan here. I lived/worked in Chicago from the mid 90´s to 2008. We used to love taking weekend breaks in Saugatuck, MI. We would leave work at lunch on Friday´s and make the easy 2-2.5 hour (depending on Chicago traffic) drive in both Summer and Winter. It looks similar to Petoskey.

If they truly respected our history, they would not have given a white washed version of it in this video. No mention of the indigenous people who established this area far before the gaslight district was here. The city is named after an Anishnaabek Chief after all!

I spent some time as a kid in Northern Michigan....that entire area of NW Michigan is gorgeous with lots to see and do, especially if you like the outdoors, hiking, etc. If you want the big city, you have Traverse City, but then you have really nice smaller towns like Charlevoix, Petoskey and Harbor Springs right up 31.... Beautiful area, with lots of awesome views of the lake...kinda cold in the winter, though!

13:08 Jesperson's Restaurant was such a great little business. Their pies were just incredible!! Unfortunately it closed about 7 yrs ago. Kids apparently didn't want to take it over... Hopefully, you two made it to Harbor Springs (we're we live) and Cross Village.

Great video, and great timing! I have been planning my upcoming road trip to Mackinac Island in September, and I will be driving through Petoskey. I'm sad that I won't be able to spend much time there because it sounds amazing, but I'm extremely limited on time for this trip, so much so that I will not be bringing my RV with me. So, I added some of your suggestions for another trip.

My hometown (and still here haha) ..so glad u got to be here when we had the nice weather ! I love that social media has brought more people here to see the beauty. I never understood or realized growing up just how lucky I was/am to look out my window and see the sunset over the water , live steps away from lake MI or 5 mins away from any number of beaches to choose from etc ..I'm so happy to share our special little town with you ❤🙏. Also cool to see all the places I'm at everyday🤗 City Park is literally 1 min.from my home ❤🙏🤗. Thanks for this!!!

We stayed in Petoskey for a week last summer at the Sun Outdoors RV resort. Very nice resort. Love Michigan and the UP. We go there almost every year.

I've been to Petoskey a couple times and stayed on the water at Magnus Park. I never saw any of the places you featured because I was hanging out by the water and Bear River! Now I have new places to seek out!

Well, if those stones are more coral and fossil, no wonder my tiny Petoskey stone turned into a fingernail size stone once I put it in the rock tumbler. lol. The resort looked beautiful.

A little fun fact about the brewery u went to here- my daughter's father owns a cattle farm and he gets all of his beer grain (unsure of the real terminology lol but that's what we call it) for the farm from there 😊..some happy cows 🤗

You just have to have the right beer from the petoskey brewery because they used to give us all of their cans that were not up to par to sell when we would go pick up the beer grain..and I can't remember the name of it but I'm going to ask And let you guys know because there was one that was one of the best beers around! I know you would like that 1 But I know what you mean because I tried a couple from there before that were really too strong but I swear this one was always sold out because everybody loves it … I'll come back with the name eventually😊. Sorry to blow u up , I just think this is so cool bc we don't get a whole lot of recognition so it's really fun to see others in all of the places I have personal ties to ❤🙏

For the resort it has to be a class A RV but you can go up there in any RV and stay at the KOA right down the street from Hearthside.
