How do you not know how much times you have been to a significant place? If I went to say the great pyramid of Giza 12 times, I would say 12 times, because every time I have been there always been a wonderful experience. I'm not trying to be mean, I am simply pointing out an observation and asking about it. Oh and, when you say every time you go there it feels more monumental, what do you mean by that? Are you saying it as an array as individual experiences or a built up individual experience (of something [petra]) that gets better each time.

❤🇯🇴❤ Indeed, now we understand how important Jordan is. Petra was the original Mecca. The Temple of Dushara just like Shiv mandir had a Navagraha counter where the nine idols of stone were consecrated and worshipped till 713 when the 2nd Islamic civil-war and earthquakes forced Muslims to shift their Kaaba location to present day mecca in Saudi Arabia. Petra was also the place where Abraham left Ishmael and his mother Hagar in the Valley of Nabatean tombs and temples. The mountains are Saffa and Maruwa. These mountains also had water-ways(ZamZam) carved on them, which provided water to in-coming caravans, camels as well as the resident people of Petra. Basically Quran describes Petra as Mecca...with orchards, wine-yards and olive trees. Also the Qibla of AlAqsa mosque and the Dome of the rock itself is oriented towards Petra. Which meant Petra was the most important city from the ancient times. Thanks to researchers like Dan Gibson, watch his videos "the sacred city".

But if we think twice 🤔, can any of us carve perfectly crafted houses in mountains without laser stone cutting technology? This is truly a remarkable structure which requires in depth planning and precision in architectural insight. 1000s of years ago human beings were like: "Hmm? Strong foundation, earthquake proof...lets turn that mountain into a house" 21st century human beings are like: "lets climb the mountain and hope we don't fall to our death" Goodbye darwinism

Have you not considered how your Lord dealt with ʽAad - [With] Iram - who had lofty pillars, the likes of whom had never been created in the lands. And [with] Thamud, who carved out the rocks in the valley? And [with] Pharaoh, owner of the stakes? [All of] whom oppressed within the lands and increased therein the corruption. So your Lord poured upon them a scourge of punishment. Indeed, your Lord is in observation. - Quran 89:6-

@@sadam3427 lol, some of the greatest scholars from the Islamic golden age were Persians. People have been trying to conquer Persia for thousands of years but, ended up being conquered themselves. That’s how powerful the culture of Iran is.

To the Thamud people (We sent) their brother Salih. He said, “O my people! worship Allah: you have no other deity other than Him. There has come to you clear evidence from your Lord. This is the she-camel of God sent to you as a Sign. So leave her to eat within God's land, and do not touch her with harm, lest there seize you a painful punishment. And remember when He made you successors after ʿĀd and settled you in the land, and you take for yourselves palaces from its plains and carve from the mountains, homes. Then remember the favors of God and do not commit abuse on the earth, spreading corruption.” - Qur'an, Surah 7 (Al-A'raf), ayah 73-74[5]

@@SN-ce5zm Also I will make myself clear. When I say Roman & Greek influence I am not referring to all of Petra, but lots. Specifically Al-Khazneh Temple, Petra Theater, Byzantine Church, and the Colonnaded Street. E.g. look at Al-Khazneh and note: The Corinthian style pillars, overall design of the first floor and entrance, and 'Castor and Pollux' statues either side of the entrance.
