Don't you feel like you're running the gauntlet through all those souvenir vendors? Easy to see why the Nabateans built in that inhospitable place! Hard to invade, easy to defend. After the Romans left, no one could even FIND it except the Bedouins, & they weren't talking. Finally, in 1812, a Swiss explorer, having heard rumors of its existence, disguised himself as a Bedouin & managed to travel with them to Petra. The place is truly a great world treasure & you & Nina are blessed to get to see it. Thank you so much.

Thank you for sharing. Another wonderful video. It looks incredibly dry but the people of ancient times had an amazing system of water collection and distribution in the city.

Thank you very much for hiking the trail in Petra and sharing this video. Wonderful footage and it is helpful to give perspective as I have only seen still pictures of the area before and didn't realize the distance between the treasury and the monastery. Thanks again!

manuals. It's so amazing to see it right now with you. Omg I had same thought when we went to Greece and donkeys take you up. My donkey didn't want to go. I was last one on that tour. I could walked faster, but the ground full of excrement.

I am enjoying your journey through Petra so much! So many things to see usually not covered in pictures. Petra is huge. It's walking on ground the Jewish people will run to from the Anti Christ. It feels Holy to me. I can't thank you enough for sharing~

I didn't realise it was such a hike to get there, but wow! That was certainly worth it to get to see the monastery at the end. The rock formations and colours on the way are fantastic but it's such a shame there are so many people selling their wares covering it all up on your journey there. It's a place I always wanted to visit but sadly never will. Thank you once again Roman for taking us on an in-depth fantastic journey to the wonderous places some of us can't get to. Nice to hear you speaking the local lingo too. Happy trails!

Wonderful video! If you get tired on the way up just stop at a couple of shops. What is inside of the building? How deep in does it go?

I saw another video about Petra that suggests it’s use still unknown. And it may really be far older than we’ve been taught. Just like the Pyramids.
