I am turning 52 and knew I had some minor gum disease. I did 2 root scaling at a clinic. No one gave me hope. My deepest pocket was a 7. After watching your video I’m going to start taking better care of my gums. My was from family history plus smoking in my 20’s too. Thank you for sharing. I’m ordering what I need and making an appointment with a periodontist. Thx again for help those of us that are older and really worried. .

@@pureheart8666 because think about if yor problem gets worse it's more work for them just like I've met people who would do a free checkup on something on your house and he would just break something to get himself work get it people do this all the time n they lie about stuff how r u going to know just like my heart problems when I went to doc in prison they said I have heart problems n I need to be careful or I'll die out here while I'm free they say I'm fine and wanted me to run a actually they wanted me to take drugs uppers an injection I think not . And I looked up stories online nurses complaining about what they are forced to do and stories of patients that they just didn't care telling them to eat alot more salt 🧂 y too make it worse because if u take the medicine they have it makes the heart 25 percent more stronger if they gave it to u maybe if it's at that percentage it would cure u but if it's bad you'll still have the problem and need meds n appointments. Same here. My gums were receding, I never had cavities, I'd got regular cleanings, and nobody said anything. Nothing about gum disease was ever mentioned, just that my gums were receding. I had to ask what should I do? He said, we could do regular cleanings..so I did that. Expensive. I was going every 2 months. The dentist filled the top of my teeth because my gums receded so much. My teeth started to get crooked, my pockets where 9 in some spots too. Finally I was getting sick of spending so much money and said how do were stop this. He tells me, "Oh, did you want me to book you in to see a specialist?" WTF? Yes I want this fixed. I went to the specialist and he looked at my file and just shook his head. He said if they would have referred me to him years ago, we could have avoided all the bone loss,constant appointments and saved my teeth. ( which are getting crooked, my front teeth are lose but he said extremely well maintained) He said some dentists do this without giving the referral because the constant cleaning make the a lot of money. The more problems you have the more money they make. So if a specialist fixes the problem. Less money for them. Now I could lose two, possibly 4 of my front top teeth, and my 4 teeth directly below due to gum disease and bone loss. I would suggest that IF anyone has any gum recession, request a referral to a gum specialist immediately. Remember, it's a business, they're out to make money and some could care less how many teeth you could lose because they will just make more money off of you. Thanks for this video. Good information.

Just experienced this with my dentist. I spent over 5 thousand in the last three months fixing my cavities and having a deep clean done. My gums were still inflamed so he finally referred me to a specialist who even went as far as saying the hygienist was lousy and they missed lots of plaque. He said he will need to do surgery to help me now 😢

This, video saved my gums and teeth. I had severe gum disease, I went straight in booking an appointment to my dentist after watching this video as this finally persuaded me to deal with issue of my bleeding/ receding gums. My dentist stopped my gum disease over a period of 8 months, across multiple appointments. To a point where he said it was 96% gone and bone/ gum tissue is growing back. that was nearly 2 years ago now and I am still gum disease free after massively improving my oral hygiene.

How did your dentist stop the disease?
@aidamtabirao2811
@aidamtabirao2811 2 ай бұрын
@@elisareyes8371 I had deep cleaning done which required scaling around my gum line and teeth. This was done in 2 sessions, top and bottom (I chose this option than doing it all at once). After which I had 2 follow up session to check my oral hygiene X-rays etc. one of session required my teeth to be lightly cleaned again. But it was just a matter of maintaining a good oral hygiene after the two deep cleaning sessions. It took about 11 months to go from periodontal disease to being stopped and 96% gone with about 1 month gap between the deep cleaning sessions. Although gum disease will never go away after getting it, if you maintain a strict oral hygiene routine then it will likely not relapse. I got braces now to fix the overcrowding and my bite which required getting 1 teeth removed to facilitate this. Which will further help prevent gum disease coming back since cleaning will be easier.

@@trix4487 it went actually really well. I didn’t get any areas numbed I kinda just took the pain. My gums flared up a little bit here and there after but now stable and just flossing brushing and tee pee sticks just making sure no food is left between my teeth so it doesn’t get bad again. She said I shouldn’t need this treatment again and should heal up well because I had already been doing a much better job. My dentist was a private one in the uk though and cost £365 pounds so was expensive but I notice a big difference tbh especially on the inflamed gums. I’m seeing more triangles on my teeth but that’s just because the inflammation is going down now and I am seeing the gum loss slightly but it’s not too bad visually on my teeth but is different. Hands down the best video I have seen on overcoming Periodontal disease. I have heard of all these methods to help with oral health. This smart cookie put it all together and used all the tricks at once. Happy for you and it Wonderful that you are here to encourage others to march forward. My story is different. All my life I suffered with severe depression. What comes with that is a very low drive to "live". All my dentist told me how "bad" I was, How bad my teeth were. If I had a dentist that encouraged me I may have felt more drive to brush and floss. I had a negative association with Oral health since I was a child. I have severe periodontist, my dentist told me to go search for a peridontist that takes my insurance. He was 3 hours away and I am low income. Sadly I do not have the drive this gal does or the income to support all the tools needed for better oral health. Please be encouraged by her and do all that you can to better your oral health. She has proved that the work does pay off.

Being a periodontist i truly appreciate your efforts in taking care of your oral health and educating other and encouraging them on this journey. As periodontal diseases are mostly hiddenn and painless in nature but have serious issues in their advanced stages of the disease. Most patients neglect as it is only some kind of discomfort and has no pain thinking it will go on its own. We give advice in the best intrest of patients, but most of them think in terms of business. But, It is their wisdom to take an informed decison before hand rather than going for extensive and expensive replacement of teeth insted.Please don't neglect your oral hygiene once the problem is solved, maintain oral hygiene protocol

My gums have always been red & inflamed but my regular dentist never said anything apart from brush twice a day & floss. I’ve now lost 70% of bone in my jaw. Not to be alarmist but I do suggest to those in the same situation to have a bone density scan. I did this and have been diagnosed with osteopenia & am very close to osteoporosis. I was diagnosed at 48 which is very young. I’m also now peri-menopausal which further complicates things as the change in hormones is known to make gum disease and osteopenia/osteoporosis worse. Back when people basically eat meat and fat and eggs and very little carbohydrate, they didn’t have inflammation or gum disease. Infections should be taken seriously and I immediately started an extensive cleaning regime in and around that bridge...My infections have disappeared and everything is well....What I've learned is some dentists are more interested in money than your health...Sorry to say

Hi petrena! Thank u for sharing this topic because I was just last friday diagnosed with Periodontal disease with bone loss causing movement esp on my 2 front teeth. Yes, I was shocked. We discussed about the disease, the procedure and price including eventually 2 implants but will still depend how much bone loss it is and her total estimate 3k euros we're in belgium. As i have a dental plan insur. she first must send me the quotation for me to know how much is covered. I am glad my husband supported me. The cause she said was all about genetics. But deep inside me, I know I have strong gums and teeth and feel they are hard and holds tight. But yes, I get abscess every now and then coz of those 2 front teeth. What I do with abscess is I slice a garlic thinly then slip it in where the abscess is plus warm salt gargle with cloves when I get them. This procedure works magic and fast subsides everything. But i got bothered I have infection deep inside that's why I booked an appointment and have my 2 front teeth fixed permanently with implants. But knowing I have Periodontal disease to deal with is shocking. I am really happy thru your vlog that there is a cure as long as you continue with the self cleaning even after the treatment. I have read that Periodontal disease doesn't totally disappear, it's ongoing if you neglect it. Sadly, it's for life. Correct me if I am wrong. I will look forward on your next update. Sorry too long. Just happy to know it's truly common, there is hope for treatment and be back normal. Thanks again.

I’m a pretty young adult. I have a long journey of dental work ahead of me. Growing up I had depression teeth, braces for 5 years, and lived with a parent who only took me to the orthodontist every 2/3 months and I wasn’t going to the dentist consistently. I’ve had major work done on my teeth and it’s honestly so scary how much I’ve had done at my age, 21. When I got my braces off I had to get so much work done on my teeth. I am making appointments for the first time since getting braces off (year and a half ago) I take such good care of my mouth now, but I know I damaged my teeth and gums. I know it’s not too late for me. I started oil pulling today- and I just got a new tooth Phillips gum care tooth brush. I’ve been taking care of my teeth regularly brushing and flossing since I got braces off- but I wanted to get a better brush that’s much softer and try oil pulling regularly. Thank you for making this post. I haven’t been diagnosed with this, but my gums are irritated some and I know they aren’t perfect we can absolutely say that. But I am nervous for what can happen from not taking care of my gums and the damage I’ve already done. Part of me feels like I can never have children because of how much work was done on me. I am so afraid of what could happen to me potentially from a pregnancy. Maybe this is weird, but I would really love to talk to you through Instagram or email or any type of private chat if you have any space in your life for that. Dealing with dental struggles seriously is the hardest part of my life. I’m scared.

This is amazing, I'm so happy for you!! Dental problems are the worst. I had the gum surgery on my front 2 bottom teeth about a year and a half ago. It wasn't bad at all. I had pretty significant bone loss, so my periodontist did something to help regrow the bone and it was very successful. The teeth were loose and kind of falling to the sides, but as the bone grew back my teeth straightened back out. I have one more spot that we're watching, but he's hopeful that we won't have to do the surgery there. I hope you're still doing well!

@@imveryhungry112 Unless *you* really want to be hooked on the deep clean every 3 months, I suggest you check out Dr.Ellie Phillips DDS videos here on youtube. Her tooth and gum care system is said to reverse gum disease, even for those told by a dentist (who profits greatly from it) that you *must* get 3 month deep cleanings. I have been on her program 7 weeks. My gums quit bleeding, are no longer red and puffy, and it appears to be working. They look better and feel better. It only took 7 days! In 4 1/2 months I'm going in for a checkup to verify Dr.Phillips program is working. Deep cleans are painful and expensive. I want to avoid them completely. I'm seeing a new dentist now also. Turns out my dentist who insisted on deep clean every 3 months was exaggerating my gum disease severity. Imagine that. Good luck to you.

Once the wounds had healed I have been oil pulling (almost) every day with amazing results. I love it, my teeth and gums have changed so much, always imp. I saw several doctors, and was recommended for the same procedure you had. Like you, I was shocked to the diagnosis because I thought I was doing okay relatively. I had one 7 I think on a place I had a gum graft previously. I go for frequent cleanings and also wondered why am I just now being told I need a deep cleaning? Maybe the infection would have been avoided if I had I had known to go sooner? I mainly appreciated your positivity and gratitude, because honestly it has had me really down the past week dealing with this. Hopefully they will help.

I hear 💯 no sugar added cranberry juice is good for you. As for rinsing with hydrogen peroxide I’m not sure how to mix it. Anyone use it or know how to dilute?? I too had the root planning and still occasionally get swollen gums 😞. Was great at first. And yes I floss and brush every day, twice a day!!

Thank you so much! I am so happy you enjoyed my video. I am doing oil pulling and I add a couple of drops of Myrrh essential oil or Francisence essential oil. Both are natural ways to promote bone growth. I really have been working hard at my gut health as well, as our gut is so connected to our mouth. I am so happy you're doing better and your mouth has healed so well!😊

I’ve really upped my brushing and flossing game. I wasn’t taught to floss as a kid, and struggles with mental health and adhd over the years, I slacked on oral hygiene. After spending about 50k on several crowns and implants, I now brush and floss twice a day. I’ve had the deep cleaning twice. I’m sick of spending money on my teeth 😢 I go for cleanings every 3 months now to keep up on it. I also started taking dental supplements and my gums finally aren’t bleeding anymore, so I’m actually able to floss more.

I just got diagnosed with this today, one person it wasnt that bad the other person that did my deep clean for my right side only due to ins said it was bad. Im 23, been nursing for 2 years and been figuring things out on my own for a while and its been rough. When the doctor told me all i wanted to do do was cry but i didnt. My mom and dad are divorced and for years they knew i needed braces too, and my mom has always commented on my teeth too it just sucks. I pray im still early enough to get my teeth health together. I go back next Thursday for my left side deep clean.

Where do u get that? How do u use it?

@@juliettamartinez5191 Many people made such experience. Even some honest dentists gave this advice. It is very important to get the knowledge. You're learning through experience. We should always make a blood test regarding vitamin D3 . If it's under 100 then you know you have to do Something. If it's between 100 to 140 but your teeth are in no good condition, which sounds strange, it's a sign that the calcium is not well delivered to your bones, which means you need the help of vitamin K2. Check also your neck. Your neck and your teeths playing a big role in such kind of cases. Your muscels should be soft and relax. I recommend 3 days before and 3 days after a dentist visit to get a massage regarding your neck. A manual therapy would make sense.
