I had the tan Micarta with black blade fishing with me two weeks ago stood up to cast literally after just telling myself as I was putting a minnow on my daughter's hook I said self do not forget about the knife in your lap, one fisherman's knot later what do I do... You already know I stood up to cast and all I hear is bloop drip drip followed by the sight of concentric circles of rippling water as my less than 4 hour old I just got it in the mail today tanto beluga disappeared into drink could not believe it so then I immediately got back on to White Mountain Ives and ordered the red G10 version which I still have thank God that's a great knife

That is a big tanto blade, for sure. I like the multi row bearings. They should use these in all knives. You do the same thing I do after putting on KPL heavy. Lay it down with the dent hole facing down. You lost the heavy on the track. Not that the track won't get some lube from the hole. Good video.

Good Lord, that Blade shape is intense. The lines and shape remind me of the Jawa transport from the original Star Wars, both in shape and intensity to it's surroundings. Liking the pocket clip design as well, what with it being hidden under the scales. It really makes the aesthetics of having a reversible pocket clip blend into the background. Tanto blade styles used to be my go to, and even though I've developed more of an affinity to the drop point, dagger point and harpoon shaped blades, tanto still makes my head turn if for no other reason than the sheer audacity they often seem to be exuding. Another great vid sir, thank you again for doing what you do! :)

Thanks, Beez, for the review and teardown/assembly of the PF Beluga Tanto. Great looking work knife, the micarta looks great as well. Not the biggest fan of front flipper only knives and they made it more difficult to use the fuller as a deployment option. But that blade shape is definatly useful for EDC or work. Curious if the front part of the tanto is completely flat or does it have a bit of belly into it, if flat it would make it easier to use for scraping and sharpening. Their use of multirow bearings is awesome with a knife in this price range it will definatly help overall with action and stability. Thanks for the great vid Beez and keep making sharp things fun and enjoyable

@wes.killed.it.55112 жыл бұрын
The design called for taller (wider) scales and liners because the height of the tanto blade. When you look at the drop point, the tip of the knife starts at a narrow point then goes out and up forming the belly. While the Tanto starts much taller (wider) out at the tip, and stays a consistent straight line, which would cause this blade to hit the stand offs in the original. Also why if you took both the original model and this tanto apart, you wouldn't be able to blade swap them.
@dwaynek.12932 жыл бұрын
@@wes.killed.it.5511 they would only have to relieve top about halfway back just a little so fuller would be more accessible to thumb flicking and Spydey flick. Not all the way back.i had noticed that the tip was mighty close to coming above the scale. I had even checked it with my small finger sideways.
