I loved this one, and I highly recommend this to every fantasy reader. We all need a relaxing time, to believe that virtue exists in this world, and I think this novel can deliver that, and more. I like the sound of this. A fantasy book where you just peacefully experience its world without the looming threat of world destruction, war, assassination attempts, etc. You don't see these too often. Another one for the TBR 😅

It was nice to know it lived up to the charming vibes everyone said it had, even though for me it took a little too long getting to the real cosy vibes it was still a lovely little book.

This is the year that I dove into reading and I only had a goal of 20 books bc reading was never my thing. But I love fantasy and sci-fi movies/shows/games and so I figured why not read instead of waiting? Your channel is one of the ones I actually vibed with bc you are genuine and I think I would like all the the things you do. So excited to read this book after finishing the mistborn series which my friend and I started because of you! Already 12 books down for the year which is crazy and basically my whole TBR is your intro to fantasy video 😂

Also thank you for putting this book on my radar as outside of having already read Mistborn Trilogy and currently working through The First Law Trilogy I havnt read too many fantasy novels and i've been looking for good standalones to get into the genre. It makes me excited that from the sound of things this book tackles some issues ive been going through myself too so i reckon it might end up being very cathartic. Also never thought id see the day where a female orc is the main character of a fantasy novel. Orc ladies need love too so that aspect of the book alone has already won me over.

I do think there are a lot of resonating themes in this book, and it's one of the several reasons why it clicked so well with many readers. Great video Petrik! I finished it today only. And i have loved. I had started reading it just because it is a novel idea to have a slice of life troupe in fantasy genre. This was such an amazing read. It gave me so many things I love about in fantasy books .... but in a cozy coffee shop. What more can i ask for? Budding relationships in a found family that warm your heart, precious characters (Thimble deserves all the hugs🥺🧡), world building that makes you want to know more about it, and amazing character arcs for such a quick read. Definitely need more of these kind of stories 🧡🧡🧡

I saw this book recommended in my email notifications and it was mentioned many times in the fantasy book group I'm in on FB so I picked it up and read it and fell in love. I honestly don't think you see many slice of life in fantasy novels so that was an added bonus. I am starting to see a trend of popularity in slice of life coming out, of course it could be because I just finished watching Kotaro Lives Alone (anime) that I say that lol. Anyways, I'm excited that the author will continue to make more books in this world. I would definitely pick up his next book for sure.

This is everywhere right now. Just picked it up a couple of days ago. Going to read next month. Great review as always. You should read Gunmetal Gods by Zamil Akhtar. I think you would really like it. It's Game of Thrones (with less POVs) with the crusades set in the middle east. The 2nd book is even better than the first too 😊

Hi Petrik. How are you doing? Thanks for telling me about this book, it sounds like a good time. Also, I wanted to let you know, that I am on chapter 19 out of 35 of the audio book Shadow of the Fox by Julie Kagawa. Personally, I like Elizabeth Lim's work a bit better and I think this story should have just been made directly into an anime instead. The journey though has been fun so far, even though chapters 12 to 14 dragged a bit.

Once I got to chapter 21, i started laughing more at the characters antics. Elizabeth Kim stirred up my emotions and laughter much faster.
