The Republic P-47 Thunderbolt was a World War II-era fighter-bomber aircraft produced by the United States. Renowned as a hardy and versatile machine, the P-47 could carry up to 2,500 pounds of external ordnance in addition to its eight .50 caliber machine guns. Propelled by the stalwart R-2800 Double Wasp engine that also powered the F4U Corsair, F7F Tigercat, and many other aircraft, the P-47 was one of the fastest and heaviest single engine fighters of the war, seeing service in all theaters of the war as a bomber escort, reliable ground attack platform, and lethal dogfighter.
We are proud to announce Nexa, our newest brand for quality balsa aircraft with the P-47 Thunderbolt "Touch of Texas", piloted in World War II by Captain Charles Mohrle of the 510th Fighter Squadron, 405th Fighter Group, circa 1944.
The Nexa P-47 is a .46 - .55 size electric or gas option scale series warbird with a 1500mm wingspan, constructed primarily from balsa wood and covered with a fuel-resistant covering. This ARF requires assembly and installation of your choice of servos and power system, and includes flaps, painted pilot, machine gun, antenna and other scale details. The large battery hatch affords ample room for either electric or gas setups. To complete the scale appeal of this beautiful Razorback, the model includes electric retracts and scale struts. Ohhhh yeahhhh ! Someday I will buy me something like this but with a 4 stroke engine on it. Like Captain Blaž I have as much fun assembling as flying the plane. With the assembly, taking my time with lots of coffee, I grow one with the plane and we get to learn each other. But this P-47 will be great on the runway I’m sure. I’m impressed already!!

This brings back so many fond memories. In the middle to late 1950s my 2 brothers and I (I'll be 77 next month) were into model aviation - .049 glow plug control line flying and rubberband free flight. It turned out that I would do most of the building and they would do most of the flying. Kind of like what you two brothers are doing. looking forward to the next few videos of this plane.

Such beautiful words my friend. Iam really happy that you find fun and joy here with us. This hobby is also all I have left at this moment. Iam still having problems with my hand, cant pass medical exam but goverment took all support away. I dont have a single cent of income at this point. And this after working 25 years 7 days a week for at least 12 hours a day. Iam really so dissapointed at this moment Mike. Good thing that we have at least this channel to keep my mind bussy until I resolve something with doctors. But I always hope for the best and hope good days will come back in the future. Great job captain Blaź, nicely presented and nicely assembled ! Can I give a tip with epoxy please..... I like the tape idea, when joining the wings ! I discovered "methelated spirits" works really well cleaning the epoxy when it's still wet. You just wipe it off and it's perfect , no smear nothing ! Hope this helps...👍

I great way to get a perfect epoxy glue joint is with rubber alcohol. You just wipe the excess Epoxy off and you get the perfect clean glue joint no matter what!

Blaž is really balsa and glow engine master. CDI unit is for spark becouse this is petrol engine.

Difficult to see in the video. Make sure the engine is angled DOWN and RIGHT. P-47 flies great. I have 5 of them in different sizes and powerplants.
